We used this map along with another Amazon book (Insight guide Iceland) to plan a two week self drive holiday in Iceland with our children ages four and five. We hired a 4WD and drove from Reyjkavik around the eastern coast on route 1, visited Myvatn, went whale watching in Husavik and returned via the Kjoler route in the interior.
I can highly recommend this map for generally planning a holiday such as we undertook. If you are driving only the "golden circle" then I cannot recommend this map as it does not have enough detail. (I would buy the Amazon southwest map for the golden circle or buy a golden circle map in Iceland).
We did find the map accurate in every way, just not detailed enough for daily navigation in the car during our holiday. Once we arrived in Iceland, within our second day we bought a 1:300,000 road atlas (unfortunatly not (yet?)available from Amazon, but available all over Iceland at petrol stations.)
Nonetheless I do recommend this map for planning your holiday as it gives an excellent overall view of the entire country on a page, and for the scale it is in it does have good detail. We found it especially useful in planning where to stop each night as we could see the whole route at once.
Great map for planning a self drive Icelandic holiday.
