A FUN AFFORDABLE "DRESS" WATCH THAT YOU CAN WEAR ANYWHERE... PERHAPS EVEN BLACK TIE EVENTS or... perhaps not!
BEWARE - NOT SURE WHY THIS PHOTO SHOWS 5M WATER RESISTANT INSTEAD OF 10ATM IN OFFICIAL BROCHURES & WEBSITES

ICE IS THE LATEST RAGE OF LATE FROM BELGIUM.
I love the original Tag Heuer issue of white women's watches about 5 years ago. Over time it has grown on me somewhat and today on a whim whilst shopping for my niece's b'day present, I did an impulse buy and got myself this watch. RRP $199, I scored (not much but at least something) a 10% discount, so hopefully I won't see it any cheaper elsewhere.
Strong contenders were the plain white/silicone strap (nicely understated) and the white with black ring &face (smart sports casual).
You have a choice of the silicon strap which I prefer and the linked strap which felt and looked plasticky.
What a great selection of colours.
Was initially worried that the ring of (what I was told was) crushed swarovski crystals (but cannot see that in the write up in the brochure apart from an attached swarovski tag) would look flea market tacky but surprisingly when worn, it did not. IT HAD BETTER NOT!
Anyhow, like the idea that it is waterproof to 10M which you may swim (but not dive) in. Hate to blow your cover BUT WONDER WHY your amazon.com image here shows 5M Water Resistant instead of 10m per [...]
WARNING HOWEVER, it may be temperature sensitive as operating temp range is 0-32C which in hindsight is a little limiting - NO SKIING IN IT - NO SAUNAS! hmm that's a bummer, didn't realise that. Our summers can get really hot and the car temperature is usually stretched another 10degrees. This had better not fail in the car or I'd be VERY UPSET!!!! The fine print was too fine.
Unlike it's cheaper counterparts, there is NO magnified DATE window but that doesn't matter. Was wondering how those would handle the different length months - does it automatically adjust or not. Irrelevant here but. AND... THE GLASS FACE HAD BETTER BE SCRATCH-PROOF AS WELL.
LIKE HOWEVER THAT THERE IS A TWO YEAR WARRANTY. Even though sub $200 watch category, this HAD BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER FLASH IN THE PAN BRAND. Seiko and Citizen make very good watches for not a lot more.
For the moment, it is something different as all my other watches are super conventional and have not bought one in close to 7 years. LET'S SEE HOW THIS FARES.
BEWARE HOWEVER OF FAKES IN SOME MODELS - GOOGLE OR WATCH YOUTUBE FOR COMPARISONS
-Comes in a white & transparent Lego shaped box with mobile phone attachment cube
-Metal buckle does NOT have the word ice imprinted on it
-The dial and logo on the clock face is raised and not merely flat printed
-Comes with a 2-year warranty
-Accompanied with warranty card, instruction booklet and tags
-Beneath the face, the stainless steel cover should say "Designed in Belgium. Original Japan Movement. Assembled in China" and not made in Belgium.
There are some variations on the clock-face depending on the model, hence not definitive eg
- the colour of the logo and second hand etc,
- whether there is a raised/ circled R (registered mark) after the brand ICE
- that the dial is exactly the same as between fake and original
These are just a sampling of the comparisons, hope this helps.
