4.0 out of 5 stars neat little mp3 player 4 Nov 2004
By A Customer
this is pretty good value for money - v good looking and decent sound as well. got this after a different mp3 player went faulty. this is much better as the volume goes much louder and you can actually hear it when theres lots of noise around you.
one major drawback is that the files dont play in the order you put them on, whether you do it file by file or use software to download a playlist. this is espesially annoying when listening to live albums. good buy other than that. 4 stars.

Excellent sound, easy to use and loads of features. An excellent unit at a very affordable price!
This unit is made from lightweight Aluminium (about 60%) and high quality plastic. I was really impressed with the overall feel & quality of the unit.
It is really easy to use and has loads of different features, not to mention incredible sound. I was a little stuck at first (complete novice) but I phoned techsplosion-uk and they really helped me! I can't believe how easy it is to use!
It holds about 80 - 100 songs (depending on size) which is more than enough for me. If you get tired of the songs on it, you can swap them all in about 45 seconds, it's amazingly quick (because it has a high speed USB 2.0 interface).
I have to disagree with another user's review (you can organise the songs into folders)
Also, this unit has a 20mw per channel output. All other MP3 players I have seen only have 5mw per channel. Because this is so powerful, you never get any distortion of sound (even at higher volumes). You can even compress the songs further to fit more on. Because of the powerful output you can't even notice that they're compressed.
The voice recorder on this unit is amazing too.... razor sharp recording clarity, even from a distance of about 10 metres. We managed to amuse ourselves for hours with it!
The feature I love most about this unit is the line-in encoding. I am able to record directly off my CD player using this feature and it also means I can backup my old vinyls and cassette tapes straight into MP3!
I looked around on the high street and struggled to find units with similar specifications at all. I found a Creative MP3 player in Dixons which had the direct encoding feature but only 128mb of memory. It cost 99.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent little mp3 player 30 Dec 2004
I purchased this mp3 player after doing a bit of research and speaking with a few other mp3 owners. I wasn't disapointed.
This player has enough memory for about six CD's, which for me is enough as I tend to have only two or three favourite CD's at any one time.
I am no computer wizard but found this simple to use, the only drawback being that it plays the songs in alphabetic order whatever order you download them. However, this is easily remedied by prefixing the song titles a, b, c, etc.
The radio is built into the player and not just part of the headphones as with some models.
Well worth the money. Nice sound. Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 6 Aug 2005
By A Customer
I have had this player for 6 months and although I was pleased with it at first, I would not recommend it to other users. The radio isn't great, and I had to buy new headphones straightaway, and a couple of months in, the internal connection to the headphones started cutting out so that the music/radio could only be heard intermittently. In the end the connection gave up completely and I couldn't hear anything. I suggest that you spend slightly more on a better quality player.
