I was given an ice cream making machine and have to say it isn't something I would ever have bought for myself. Having had a few disappointing and expensive famous names chef's, cooks, ladies who aren't a size 12, recipes go wrong, I bought this book. I have had several others in the series and been impressed with them having intially bought them for cousins just starting University and with no idea how to cook.
I am hopeless with anything technical which I put down to my dyslexia but this book gives an ecellent comprehensive need to know introduction to the machine itself. It does not patronise or make you feel like an idot.
The recipes are quick easy and I have had no disasters or epensive mistakes. I have moved onto other more exciting recipes but still get requests for the old favourites in this book.
Coconut and Lime Ice Cream, not an obvious combination but it tastes lovely.
Strawberry Pavlova Ice Cream, a sophisticated take on raspberry ripple.
Christmas Pudding Ice Cream, intended for leftovers but a friend buys an extra one for myself to make this ice cream for her.
Apricot Soya Ice, a friend who has a restricted diet adores this.
Lemon Sorbet, an olde but one of my favourites.
Butterscotch Sauce, used for the Chubk Pecan and Maple Ice Cream but a lovely recipe for other ice creams and numerous desserts.
Tomato, Chilli and Vodka Granita, can't stand it myself but have had numerous repeat requests for it from family.
