It's in the difficulties and in difficult time that true friends and people who really care about you reveal themselves. The skating theme takes us through the journey of a rising ice-skating young girl in relation with feelings, competition, hard work, determination, difficulties and blindness. Touching & moving film. The actors helps us to enter the story.

Format:DVD
This is so much better than your average girly film. Its love story starts in the middle, rather than ending when they get together and as a result it's deeper and really gets to your heart. The ice skating is beautiful and many aspects of it are shown: the joy, training, tears, glamour, press, competitions, hard work. You get to see a lot of skating too, it doesn't keep you waiting. Something awful happens (I don't want to spoil it for you!), but the film does not descend into depressing 'realism', nor is it sickeningly happy at the end. The music is beautiful, memorable and stirring.
If you like girly films, ice skating, dance films, etc, it is so worth watching. This film really stands out to me as one of the best I've seen for a long time.

The fact the lead can skate and act just makes this film so much more realistic, enjoyable and emotional. The chartacters relate well to one another and it feels natural. This is the best of the ice skating films, a bit like 'Love Story' on ice.
