"Ice Bears and Kotick" is a sailing narrative with many events and an extraordinary variety of ice. It's a low budget story about what happens when you put everything into one big adventure. Through it all the important journey is the internal one. It might appeal to gap year students, lovers of ice and snow, lovers of Arctic wildlife, small boat sailors and oarsmen. Having said that, some who have loved the book were none of these things. So I think that it's for anybody who can remember being young, and identify with the need to go out into the world to do something big or special or impossible.
