Product Description

Germany's curiously named death/thrash outfit Dew-Scented was founded in 1992 by then drummer, later vocalist Leif Jensen. Together with assorted, short-tenured bandmates, he gradually parlayed a pair of demos (1993's "Symbolization" and 1994's unnamed promo) into a deal with local independent Steamhammer for 1996's full-length debut, Immortelle. Intensive touring then steadily built the band's fan base, and the addition of guitarist Florian Müller and drummer Uwe Werning helped Jensen, guitarist Ralf Klein, and bassist Patrick Helms further refine their high-speed thrash chops over the course of two solid albums, 1998's Dan Swanö-produced Innocent and 1999's Ill-Natured (both released by Grind Syndicate Media). Dew-Scented then linked up with Nuclear Blast, and ensuing efforts Inwards, Impact (2003), and Issue VI (2005) saw the group vying with Arch Enemy, the Haunted, and others for the neo-death/thrash crown. Bolstered by a line up re-shuffle leaving Jensen as the only remaining original member Dew Scented return in 2012 with Icarus, a razor sharp, brutal, thrash metal attack. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

2012 Album Of The Year 2 Sept. 2014
By Mr. M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Dew-Scented is one of the greatest and most unfairly obscure bands in the thrash metal world right now, and this may very well be their masterpiece. This album may not be quite as complex or intricate as some of their previous works, but it trades all of that for sheer brutality, and quite a bit more of a death metal influence, especially on "Reawakening". Make no mistake however - this is still a thrash album, albeit not one that you might consider "normal". Dew-Scented is a rather odd duck within the thrash world, as they don't seem confined to play what people normally think of as thrash - they have cryptic and rather interesting lyrics, vocals that mix death growls with hardcore shouts, and at time highly unusual riffing. This is their best so far, and it comes incredibly highly recommended. One of my favorites.

Dew-scented and flying high 8 Jun. 2013
By Snowboarder Bo Snoarder - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
My buddy Necrogulis told me about this band; somehow they slipped under my radar for 20 years.

This was the first album of theirs that I bought and I was BLOWN AWAY.

If you like your thrash hard-charging and full of pummeling riffs, if you like your vocals hoarse and dripping with anger, if you like your drums self-propulsive and filled with blast beats: this is for you.
