I write thrillers, science fiction, comedy. Occasionally I combine the genres, or write outside of general genre boundaries.
I have been a long time contributor of the website The Spoof, which is a satirical news website. If you like/understand (*Delete as appropriate) my humour, then there's plenty more over there under the pen name IainB.
My first Kindle book, Fakebook.con, was published in February 2012. It is about a man creating a fictitious person on Facebook. I couldn't possibly comment as to whether any of my Facebook friends are fictitious. The cover art contains twelve of my real friends. Fakebook isn't a comedy. In fact, it's difficult to put it in any particular pigeon-hole, but psychological thriller is the closest Amazon has.
The second book, App World!, grew out of The Spoof. The cover art for this book is my good friend Martin Jones. Very photogenic he is too. This one is a comedy, or more specifically, a parody.
I am in the process of rewriting some of my other work to bring it up to date. You can look forward to the James London series, a comedy series that was described by Random House's reading team as a cross between James Bond, Indiana Jones and Monty Python. I thought that was harsh, as Indiana Jones doesn't like snakes...Also coming up are some science fiction thrillers. The first of which will be The Watcher, which was originally written in 1988, and predicted laptops, e-Readers, the internet, a world wide recession, flash memory drives and self driving cars. Invest in self-driving cars...
I am in my 40s, married with two kids. I'm trying to find a way of getting the 0.4th child.
