Product Description

Review

'After ordering and returning several other ISO 9000 books, I found this book to be just what I was looking for. I find it very understandable especially for a comparative newcomer to the formal procedures of Quality Control. Having been authorized to see what ISO 9000 can do for our software engineering company, this book has provided me with a lot of enthusiasm for achieving a formal QMS.'
Stephen Maile, Denver, CO

From the Publisher

The new ISO 9000:2000 family is an all-encompassing series of standards that lay down requirements for incorporating the management of quality into the design, manufacture and delivery of products, services and software. To achieve its main objectives, ISO 9001:2000 requires the manufacturer, or supplier, to possess a fully auditable Quality Management System consisting of Quality Policies, Quality Processes, Quality Procedures and Work Instructions. It is this Quality Management System that will provide the auditable proof that the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 have been and are still being met.ISO 9001:2000 In Brief explains the meaning of ISO 9000, its history, current status, requirements and changes being made to it. It also covers how ISO 9001 will affect businesses, and how they can easily and cost-effectively satisfy their customers' requirements for quality control and quality assurance. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

2.0 out of 5 stars Old, tired, misguided and poorly written. 5 Sep 2001
Format:Paperback
What a bore. The content is re-hashed from a collection of other books with nothing new to add. A lot of the 'opinions' of the authors are plagarised and the rest are all doubtful to say the least. After 2 chapters I was sick of the contradictions, platitudes and cliches. Obviously written by a theorist consultant and not a practitioner... But, judge for yourself if you must.

If you are new to quality then maybe it could be a light introduction, otherwise go for something more sincere and professional...

2.0 out of 5 stars Badly written 18 Mar 2004
Format:Paperback
It's an interesting subject made very dull and hard to follow. This seems to be a PowerPoint presentation grown up into a book. The figures and tables don't add anything. The text is turgid.

Avoid this and get something well-written, properly edited, and professional.

Being new to this subject I found this book easy to read and informative, just what a beginner needs.
