I got this as a Christmas present from my wife. Arrived very quickly. This is an excellent alternative to expensive dj setups. I used to use a CDN95 back home but since moving to London there is less space to have large equipment. I used it for a friend's New Years party and it performed like a star. No complaints. Great product.

I bought this kit for my housewarming party, I didn't want to just put my ipod on shuffle so I thought I'd get some friends up DJing for the night, and it ROCKED!

My DJ skills are limited to say the least, as is my hand eye coordination, but I thought I could probably get away with just using the crossfader and turning the volume down to disguise the fact that I can't actually mix (a little trick I learned at Uni).... and then I found the Sync button!!!! Magic! it actually beat matched the songs for me! So I ended up looking like DJ Sonique (without the shaved head!) and my friends were extremely impressed, or they would have been had I not told everyone the secret to my magic trick!

One of my friends who used to DJ got up and did some serious tricks, with some impressive scratching etc and made me look like a complete amateur, my favourite bit was a mash up of D'Angelo's Brown Sugar into The Fresh Prince of Bel Air- oh yes, it can be done!

This is a great little kit, the software was easy to install and worked fine with my itunes library, the scratch wheels are a lot of fun and you do run the risk of thinking you are Pete Tong after a few drinks... but it's well worth the investment, It will certainly be coming out for the Christmas parties!

I bought this for myself as an xmas present. Turns out it doesn't work on Windows 7 PCs. It says on the package, it's compatible with XP and Vista, but on the Discs Readme file, it says it DOES work on Windows 7. It is not clear whatsoever what it can and cannot work on. It may work on other Computers, I don't know, but I tried on my friends Vista Laptop and it worked. It may only work on Laptops, but it's not clear. The controls on the handset don't respond to the program. If you have a Windows 7 PC, I advise you to not buy this!

    Verified Purchase
I purchased the iCue3 about 4 months ago as a first time user and have loved it ever since. The build quality is decent for such a cheap product, and the knobs have a good feel to them. I would advise that you get a USB sound card (around £2.50 on amazon) and download the ASIO4 software to be able to separate the software's use of the 2 cards. It takes a bit of fiddling around, but I got there in the end.

The supplied software is pretty good and will link up to iTunes. I've taught myself to a reasonable standard in 3 months of practicing, although prepare for a few dark days at the start if you're a first time user like me! My fiancee is an ex club promoter and she's really quite impressed with what the unit and software can achieve.

One day I may move on to a more expensive controller and pass this one on to a mate. At well less than £100 there's really nothing to lose in my opinion. What are you waiting for?

Although this unit is a little lightweight, it pretty much does the job its sold to do. A few words of warning to anyone not familiar with audio routing... there is no headphone line out, which means you can't cue through headphones before mixing your tracks. However, the addition of an external usb soundcard (I bought Dynamode 7, very cheap at £2 but functional) and a download of Asio4all software allows you to bring 2 soundcards into use. So, you can send your cue (headphones) audio through a usb soundcard and have your master sound (the mix) through your computer speakers using the "Dual Stereo" mode in the included software. Hope this helps, it took me several weeks of playing with cables and software to finally figure it out!

This is not limited to the iCUE3, its pretty standard on these budget units, but once you play around and get your soundcards set up OK you have a lot of DJing ahead!

The alternative is to use the simple stereo output of the software which sends cue and master in the 2 stereo channels of your computer, and split the stereo signal into 2 mono outputs using a splitter cable plugged into your headphone jack. This is a bit more of a hassle as on top of the headphone splitter cable you then need to buy a second splitter to turn the mono cue channel into a stereo output to feed into your headphones, and a third splitter to turn the mono master channel into a stereo output to feed through your hifi. Not to mention you lose any nice stereo effects on the tunes you're mixing.

I bought this about a year ago with the intention of learning to DJ. I started using it with an app called Djay before moving to Traktor Pro. At the time i had to midi map the controller for Traktor but this meant i could fine tune each control for what i wanted, i now have it set up effectively for 4 deck control. I have used this controller in live gigs exclusively to great effect, and built around it with TouchOSC on iPad and NI Maschine to create a versatile setup that works perfectly for me. It is the perfect controller for learning and will set you up into more advanced DJing very well indeed.

If i had one qualm with the controller, it is that the turntables spin too quickly and for too long. I put a rubber pad on the inside of the unit to slow down the speed of rotation, but this wouldn't be a problem if you primarily use the turntables for transport controls.

If you want to hear some mixes i've made with the controller, search for me on soundcloud, my name is Hugh Lurcott. I also have a download link for my Traktor set up there if you require it.

Overall an amazing controller and very worth the price. 5*
