I have a vast collection of vinyl records which I want to record over to CD. so, imagine finding a record deck that you connect up to your computer and just record easy is'nt it? oh no it is'nt. I have had nothing but problems with this deck. my computer is windows vista which the deck can connect up to. IF, like me you have "Vista" you have to download a seperate softwear from the company. I did that then I tried to record no sound out of my computer speakers although I had the volume turned up high. rang the company and was told through a person at the company what I had to adjust on my computer go through my settings click on this etc. no mention how to resolve this problem in the instruction booklet it tells you what to do if you don't get any sound but nothing about making adjustments on your settings. the deck can have a I-POD device fitted to it. you have to download with the softwear I-TUNES to get your music into one of the I-Tunes files. I do not have a I-POD but still had to download the softwear. I do not rate this record deck of anything really. why can't these so called tecnical gadgets do there job instead of you having to phone the company and get help? it's so easy just connect to your computer download the softwear and now you can start recording your prized vinyl to CD. so it states.
After I downloaded the softwear my computer shut down and started up again and I had a message from microsoft saying my computer has had a loss of power and is checking to see if any damage accured. I also lost my anti spywhere and had to contact my ISP to try and get that back. and that's all to do with this record deck. I will take my usb deck to "Cash Converters" in my town. I will look out for a vinyl-cd unit that don't need any softwear no leads or cables. and I can just place a blank cd-r in the unit and record. I understand that such hi-fi units like this do exist on the market. I most certainly will make sure it is not made by ION hi-fi. (If you have had better luck then me then tell me your secret?)for me I'm just un-lucky.

Actually not really happy with this company, I have sent the item back along with all paperwork and have not heard a jot about my refund!!!
Made sure the item was packaged correctly (even took photographic evidence) and paid a fortune for recorded delivery, not sure why I am receiving such terrible customer service, waiting for a response soon.
I simply ordered something that did not do what I thought it would & now I am waiting on information.

I bought one of these turntables for my Dad last year, he has hundreds of old soul & motown records that he's hoarded in the attic for years and refuses to part with. I paid the extra to have the iPod dock rather than the standard ION USB turntable because my Dad is a bit clueless when it comes to the computer but he does love his iPod Touch, so I thought I'd cut out the middle man and save him some hassle.
He's managed to record a number of his favourite records onto his iPod so far, and he even hooked it up to his computer and loaded the software successfully! (I'll be honest, I was amazed), when they switched from PC to Mac it even made that transition successfully, it must be pretty easy to use or he'd have given up by now! He's also managed to hook it up to his stereo which is great as he's always loved listen to vinyl but has been unable to do since my darling brother commandeered their old hi-fi & turntable when he moved out about 10 years ago! All-in-all a great little unit. I think the real-time recording is a bit tedious but it has breathed new life into an otherwise obsolete record collection.
