I use this to enclosure house an older IDE drive and to swap data between an old computer which only supports USB 1 and a new computer which supports USB 2. It works fine with both computers and with 2 different hard drives.
Only one minor problem so far : the drive/enclosure has occasionally attempted to draw too much power from the USB port (on both the old and new computers) resulting in a Windows XP error message which stopped whatever operation caused the problem. Ressetting the port has resolved the issue without losing any data (so far). I should note that both drives I use in this enclosure are the relatively older IDE drives, so I don't know whether the drives or the enclosure cause the issue. Overall, it does the job.

This product was as described. Works perfectly and i couldnt ask for any more to be really honest. What else can you ask for from a hard drive enclosure other than it reads your hd? Actually, this enclsoure came with a nice pouch and also a good quality metal container. I'm thinking of buying another one of these in the future.

Happy with the product. Does what it says on the tin. I had no problems setting up 160GB HDD from my old laptop.
Enclosure comes with all the screws, cables and even pouch for it.
Can recommend this as budget method of accessing your data on HDD.

Simple to install hard disk enclosure.
A good quality item at a very reasonable price. It was very easy to install the drive into the enclosure and use the completed unit with the provided leads.
