1.0 out of 5 stars Over-priced - massively 17 May 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
For £5.25 this item is extremely over-priced, particularly as it is so brief and that (as I've subsequently learnt) it can be accessed online for free (legally as far as I can tell).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great educational aid 26 April 2009
By Apicius
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This (and its sequel) are gold dust for staff developers and hard pressed educational professionals. Pity it didn't include a section on impressing it upon ultra conservative staff. Could undo much of the poor 'target based' education which has so devalued our English children.

Format:Paperback
Black and William identify key areas in which teachers can raise attainment, for example in questioning techniques and assessment. The text is easy to read and understand and well presented.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is a pamphlet 29 Nov 2013
By Lucy
Format:Paperback
This is a leaflet which contains 20 pages including references. Yes it has good information (available free on-line and probably included in other books on assessment)
When it states ' paperback' it does mean quite literally paper. I think it was mis-advertisement to call it a book

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any student of education 18 Jan 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A must for anyone studying assessments in education. The only think was I was expecting a book, not a booklet, so was surprised that this is a thin booklet. I obviously didn't read the description thoroughly before I bought!

Ii am currently studying a foundation degree in supporting teaching and learning and assessment for and of learning is a major part of any teacher planning. I found this book very easy to read and extremely useful for quotes in my writing.

2.0 out of 5 stars A must read.. but no need to pay! 19 Aug 2013
Format:Paperback
This is a short and yet essential guide to AFL... however as one other reviewer has said, there is no need to pay £5 as it is easily (and legally) available for free online!
