I completely disagree with the earlier review. And haven't encountered any of the camera problems that he's complaining of!
I bought this for my 10 year son, and we've spend many an hour this weekend challenging each other. (I even managed a 9 ball clearance against him!).
The venues are quite nice, nothing special. The 'create your own character' is a nice touch. The cameras for us worked well, and the only complaint I'd have with the motion-sensing controls is that you aim left/right when lining up your shot by using the D-Pad rather than waving the cue around. I was able to play both soft and gentle shots (which seemed a little easier than doing so in the Pool game on Wii Play!), and applying spin and side to the cue ball is easy too.
My son hasn't got that far into the Career mode, but did win the 2nd Tournament without problem. Oh, and it has a Snooker mode in there - though the kids don't really have the patience for watching me play a lengthy game of snooker against the computer :)
All in all, I would heartily recommend this game. The loading times are quite slow, but I think the multi-player gaming experience is worth the wait. I think I may have to get the family a copy of the PuzzleSphere game from the range over Xmas as it may appeal to the females in the house more than the sports editions!
