2.0 out of 5 stars Good Advert 27 Sep 2011
Format:Blu-ray
A bit disappointing, this is really a 40 minute commercial for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Most of the 3d effects are very obviously CGI and not very well done CGI at that. I would have been a lot less miffed if they had been upfront and called it A Commercial for the Boeing 787. Calling something Legends of Flight and then forgetting to even mention two world wars happened, no mention of the de Havilland Comet, or Concorde, plenty of back handed begrudging 'compliments' about that loser the A380, it smacks a bit of parochialism.
PS. I've flown on the A380 a couple of times, it's brilliant, beats the 747 or even 777 in all respects hands down imho

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this. 11 Aug 2011

Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Long advert for Boeing but beside that the disc isn't even in 3D!! Both 2D and 3D productions are identical. Absolute waste of money. Don't buy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Miss-adertised 25 Sep 2011
By GavinH
Format:Blu-ray
If this documentary were titled 'How everything compares to the Dream Liner' it would score more for at least being accurate. I saw this production in an IMAX theatre and the effects were very impressive, particularly the Constellation flight, however it really lacked content and enough range of aircraft to justify a title describing the generations of flight. The most annoying point, a small mention of how Boeing almost made a supersonic jet, but no inclusion of the Concorde other than a small doodle of one.

Despite the slightly misleading title, this is a really good film to watch. Okay, so it's basically one long advert for Boeing, but the breathtaking IMAX photography more than... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The 3D here is first class, the subject matter not so much
Okay, so it's a bit of a puff piece for the 787.

However, it's well filmed, razor sharp and packs great 3D that have tremendous depth and some very nice pop-up... Read more
