Here she is, the wonderful Italian soprano Filippa Giordano with her latest offering. Aimed at the mainstream market, it has the makings of a very good crossover pop/ classical release as in Sarah Brightman, Boccelli and Russell Thompson. The album uncludes a couple of classic arias such as 'One Fine Day' from Madame Butterfly with the rest of the album being made up of pop based melodies. Giordano's operatic voice is not fully convincing but with her beauty and style she pulls it off to make the end result satisfying and relaxing. The Italian language songs melt from your speakers with love! Songs such as Il Rosse Amore (the title track) and Che Luce Sei are strongly written tracks and work well to blend with the classical content included.
This is an excellent album to discover her talent with and a worthwhile purchase if you want to be culturally entertained!

After her wonderful first offering 'Filippa',I expected to be slightly disappointed with this follow up cd. I was delighted to find that this collection was as equally strong and satisfying. Her range is amazing from modern ballads and standards through to strong arias. Her treatment of va pensiero is ground breaking opera and La bacarolle is a delight. Her rendition of Plaisir d'amour,is to my mind, one of the best ever.A must for any fan of Filippa and any lover of adventurous and innovative music.

Beautiful collection of songs to follow up the incredible worldwide success of her debut album FILIPPA GIORDANO. IL ROSSO AMORE features a stunning array of original multi-lingual tunes (including two written and produced by soundtrack legend Ennio Morricone) and reworked popular classical arias. This visionary album is simply a classic!

Filippa Giordano's best cd. Great voice, heavenly feelings and great songs. The songwriter of "Heaven knows" and "Amarti si" (the most intimate song) is Alessandro Napoletano who wrote also the music of "L'ultimo re" for Andrea Bocelli in "Cieli di Toscana". "Heaven Knows" is sweet, passional, and powerfull as an italian composition should be. Filippa Giordano and Alessandro Napoletano.. a magic union that gave its best results. This is a "MUST".
