My two and a half year old daughter has this set and loves it. The colours are as vibrant as the picture and I'm sure it will last years. This set is suitable for real picnics/camping too, adults or children.
Measurements APPROX for a general idea:~ Knife Length 7" 18cm Spoon & Fork Length 6 1/2" 16.5cm Bowl Top Edge Width 4" 10cm Length 4 1/2" 11.5cm Height 2" 5.5cm Plate Width 6 1/2" 16cm Length 7 1/2" 19cm Cup Top Edge Diameter 3" 7.5cm Height 3 1/4" 8cm The plastic is extremely robust withstanding outdoor sand and water play with food colouring, dropped on concrete, being filled with stones also mud and after a good wash 'tea making' in the bath. The inside of the cups, bowls and upper surface of the plates are a shiny gloss finish. The upper surface edge to the plates and outer sides to the cups and bowls have a lined matt and shiny gloss patterned finish. The cutlery handles are matt. Everything survives the dishwasher, in fact I think it's all indestructible. Only after very close scrutiny are signs of use apparent. The gloss is still shiny with few scratches. I haven't had cause to try anything in the microwave but have no doubt it would be absolutely fine as the listing states. The only down side is, I feel the fork prongs are VERY SHARP AND POINTED. So sharp I have not given them to my daughter, they will cause harm. I obviously saw this when I bought them from the shop, just decided to trim and file them... one day! Excluding the forks in her set does not diminish play in any way for now. I think an older child would perhaps notice fork absence. I have no regret purchasing these, just wanted folk to be aware as it's not easy to see this via a computer monitor.

The colours of this 'Kalas' set are vibrant and the cups and bowls are of good quality. However, the plates are not of the same standard and the cutlery is fairly rubbish to be honest! If you are not interested in the whole 'set' the items can be bought as sets of 6 cups, 6 bowls etc 'elsewhere' and for a far more competitive price. I suppose it depends if you want to spend the extra here in lieu of postage or a bit on petrol going shopping!

I bought these because they were advertised as microwave and dishwasher safe plus there was 6 of everything which is very handy now that my 4 year old is having more school friends round to tea!
I thought the Wentworths price was very reasonable and decided to give these a try and so far have been very pleased with them. They are very simple pieces but look cheerful and colourful. My children seem happy with them and even my husband seems to be using them at every opportunity! It's great that they are ok in the dishwasher and microwave. As another reviewer said, it's true that the fork prongs are quite pointy but my 4 year old manages fine with it. I don't think they are really for younger children - I use the fork with my 1 year old but I make sure I'm in charge of the fork! Personally, my only gripe would be that the cutlery handles are quite chunky so they don't fit in the cutlery holder in my dishwasher but other than that, I think these are great value.
