Product Description

Product Description

This is the Unofficial Guide to the IELTS Exam. It is for the ACADEMIC exam and NOT the general test. I have trained more than 1000 students and another 30,000 have downloaded materials from my Website to pass the IELTs exam and what started as a few notes for my students has ended up as a complete guide.

This book is not just a few past papers, but a real guide to help you pass the test. It tells you the timings, the vocabulary you need, how to write your essays, the reading techniques you will need to use and most importantly what you are going to need to speak about! Also we don’t give you 4 measly writing exercises, with the odd answer. We give you 20 Sample questions with answers done in the REAL time! If you want sample papers then there are plenty available, but if you really want an insiders guide to passing the exam, then this book is for you!

I maybe the author, but my students have spent years telling me, what they need to know and what I need to do to make sure that they get past the test!

About the Author: James Abela has been teaching IELTS for more than six years. He has published three books with Marshall Cavendish, written for a national newspaper on the subject of English teaching and runs one of Google's highest ranking IELTS Websites.

5.0 out of 5 stars From 5.5 to 6.5 26 Mar 2011
By Kwan
Format:Kindle Edition
I just gone in for my exam and am very pleased to report a result of 6.5. What really helped me was the speaking guide with the topics. I thought I have nothing to say, but because I practiced the topics I could say a lot. The topic in the writing exam was also very close to one of the sample essays and the IELTS part 1 was a simple table and the vocab was very helpful. I appreciate about the way it tells you exactly what to do. Good value for money book and very meaningful. I am so happy now I can go to my university of choice!

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful tips for improving IELTS grade 16 Mar 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I found this book contained some very useful hints and tips which I've passed on to my IELTS students. It is definitely a useful addition to the armoury of material to assist in IELTS preparation and, of course, very cheap by comparison to the average textbook!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that good 18 July 2011
By Mobi
Format:Kindle Edition
The book fails to deliver. By searching on internet about IELTS one can gather more information.

Majority of pages in the book covers sample IELTS writing task essays. Some of them are in quite poor standard!

The book gives no good examples of Reading tests. No information on listening either!
