My six year old cousin has this book and i thought i'd read it when she'd gone to bed.I absolutely adore the illustrations,they are sooo detailed!The extra's inside guide you on how to do your own performance,and include a recipe for cheddar cheese pies!It has a tough cover with a ribbon to hold it all together so tiny toddlers won't shred it to pieces.I thoughroughly recommend this book as a gift to anyone who has a budding ballerina intheir family!

My 6 year old loves this book! It came complete with flaps and pockets filled with wonderful surprises for her to find including fairy dust, a wand which she could decorate herself with pretty stickers, a ballet tutu, fairy wings and a sparkly crown so she can dress up to put on her own magical performance. And not forgetting tickets so she can invite guest to watch her show! Even now that we have read the book and explored the flaps and pockets many times, she still loves to go through it again and make sure everything is still there - or see if there are any new surprises (added by her or sometimes me). The story is beautifully interested, and although my little girl is really 'into' ballet she loves dressing up and using her imagination and this book really encourages that! I recommend this for any little girl who likes make believe.

My girl happens to be a cool one, and even though she does like the Angelina stories and she does enjoy girlish things, I found the contents just too much. I would not want her to actually get dressed as a ballerina (unless she really learns ballet), so if you do not prefer a lace-skirted little angel to stick her wand into your nose, choose an other gift!
