Telling it how it is,

As a father who has first hand experience of Family Courts, I found "I want to see my kids" a refreshingly honest examinition of what actually happens to parents and children once the Family Law machinery kicks in.
Unlike other books on divorce which I have read, which seem to me to present a sanitised version of Family Law in which everyone acts honestly and responsibly, Forder and Rayburn tell it like it really is. They accurately reflects a world of greedy lawyers, vindictive parents getting even with each other, and incompetent judges trying desperately to save face. The book recounts the experiences of real dads, and draws pithy, practical lessons from each, such as: "make sure that the order correctly reflects what has been agreed in court. Be sure the contact arrangements are clear and do not allow for any deviation by mum." Simple, practical advice such as this is invaluable to dads who are new to Family Law, and who wrongly assume that their solicitor and the judge will know their business well enough to draw up water-tight orders. Fore-warned is fore-armed, and I would recommend this book to anyone whose family is about to break up.

This book is an eye opener, designed not to 'scare', but to make individuals 'aware' of what can happen behind the walls of the secret courts. This is a wake up call for all Dads who think they have 'done nothing wrong' and who think that going to court will be a breeze. - The book shares stories of similar guys - some of the results are devistating for them and their families.

My God what a powerful book!
Tina and Tim have combined their experiences with great passion and emotional intelligence, to bring the destructive and painful experiences of real people to the attention of the nation. If you don't cry when you read this book then you need to apply for a position at CAFCASS or consider a career as a family lawyer! Tracy Hollowood
