Product Description

Album Description

"a highly original talent" - Uncut

Rocco DeLuca has packed more adventure and trial into his twenty seven years than most aspiring musicians can hope to do in a lifetime. The result of this is his debut album I Trust You To Kill Me.

Born the son of Bo Diddley's touring guitarist, Rocco spent his youth on the road with his dad where joining in with band practice seemed preferable to sleeping in the tour bus. After securing a residency at LA's famed Gypsy Lounge, Rocco has opened for John Mayall and John Lee Hooker, and played with Johnny Cash. A demo passed to Kiefer Sutherland and Jude Cole's Ironworks label became the starting point for his debut album.

It was this life on the road and the absence of an atypical upbringing that have given Rocco an edge and an attitude that has served him well, and no doubt played some part in the attraction for Sutherland, himself one of Hollywood's non-conformists.

Rocco's use of the beautiful Dobro steel guitar give his songs a distinctive and rich foundation evident from the first chords of album opener Gift. The jubilant singalong of first single Colourful (released June 5th), the country-tinged Mystified, and the six-string workouts of Swing Low and Gravitate have drawn comparisons with the likes of Jeff Buckley, Pearl Jam and Led Zeppelin.

Coinciding with the release of I Trust You To Kill Me, Rocco will be the subject of a Sky 1 'on the road' documentary that goes out at 10.00pm on 8 May. His album of the same name will be released on the same day. The documentary will feature Rocco and his band The Burden plus their 'less than qualified' tour manager Kiefer Sutherland as they embark on the trials and tribulations of their very first European tour.

Rocco DeLuca and The Burden performed two electrifying sets at America's major showcase festival, South By Southwest in Austin, TX.

Rocco and Kiefer hit the UK first week of May for promotion. Rocco will perform 'Colourful' on Jonathan Ross 5 May. Catch him live at London's Bush Hall 8 May.

I saw the Sky One documentry on their first tour and fell in love with the music. I bought this album and I can't stop playing it! My favourite song is Swing Low, Rocco Deluca can play his guitar and this album really sings the praises of his unique and individual talent and style!

Recently saw Rocco Delucca & the Burden live at The Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire! I was blown away by the whole band. If you love the album get to a show they are back in the country in August 2006! Get a ticket!

5.0 out of 5 stars Album Of The Year, 15 July 2006

I heard about Rocco Deluca and The Burden when I caught the documentary I Trust You To Kill Me on Sky 1. Not only was it an interesting film but I fell in love with the band's sound. I picked up the album the next day and it's been on repeat ever since. The tracks have a timeless quality and Rocco's vocals are simpley unique. Among my favourites are Colourful, Bus Ride, Swing Low and How Fast but most of the tracks would make great singles for the UK market. I'm looking forward to seeing the band live in September.

If you're considering picking up a copy, you won't regret it.
