Product Description

Feature film for release Spring 2011 following four superbike riders through their dramatic British Superbike Season. They are the new GLADIATORS, battling at 200MPH, riding through torturous conditions and risking life and limb at every race meeting. Only one can be the true champion. Film score by David Vanian of the Damned, music by Phil Collen of Def Leppard and Manraze. The high-octane documentary intimately follows the great British hope, Tommy Hill, whose parents have sacrificed their home, holidays and finances to support his burning ambition to be Britain s number 1 superbike racer. Tommy commented, 'British Superbikes is motorcycle racing at its very best and this film shows that brilliantly. It's amazing to see BSB on the cinema screen. It's a massive sport with a great following - now hopefully people who don't know it that well can see what an incredible event it is . Alongside Tommy Hill, I,Superbiker is a revealing portrait of the highs and lows of fellow racers, James Ellison, Josh Brookes and Gary Mason, riding through torturous conditions and risking life and limb at every race meeting. Motorcycle fans and thrill seekers alike will be able to experience the gladiatorial speed, strength and tenacity of the riders as they battle their way through the dramatic 2010 BSB Season. The film s writer, producer and director Mark Sloper of 400 TV commented: I wanted to capture the emotion and passion of motorcycle racing a classic motorcycle racing film that might be set in the 2010 season but can still be fresh in years to come . He added, 'I also wanted it to appeal to people outside of the motorcycle industry and fan-base. And I wanted to try and change outsiders perceptions of motorcycling . Special features include: 'I, Superbiker Premiere: Leicester Square', 'Gary Mason's Lap of Brands Hatch', 'James Ellison's Road to Recovery', 'Training with Tommy Hill', 'Josh Brookes is King of the Mountain' and 'Theatirical Trailer'.

As a huge motorcycle racing fan, it wasn't hard to interest me in watching this film, but I wondered how they were going to "do justice" to the highlights of every single race of the season while trying to bring out the story of the characters involved. As it turns out, they went a little lighter on the highlights and chose to focus more on 6 of the protagonists involved, which turned out to be a great choice (even for me, who can never get enough of great racing footage).

The stories of these six superbikers are quite interesting and they show the reality of the highs and lows of the life of a racer. I think even non-motorbike fans would enjoy the classic themes of struggle, redemption, and heartache involved in this film. And this isn't "reality TV"; it's reality!

I love that the UK cares enough about motorcycle racing to put a film like this together and release it in mainstream theatres - I wish people in my country (Canada) knew what a motorcycle was.

I'm chomping at the bit for I,Superbiker II now; the 2011 season was even more dramatic than the 2010 one and should make for a dynamite show!

Incredible!
An overview of the 2010 BSB season, not as good as TT3D but still a good watch in it's own right.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing film 20 Aug 2011
This film was boring, probably spoilt by seeing TT3D: Closer To The Edge the day before which is out on 28th November at the time of writing this. While marshalling the BSB and seeing the action close up I was hoping for an entertaining film but was sadly disappointed. http://www.amazon.co.uk/TT-Closer-Edge-Blu-ray-Combi/dp/B005CHE59S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1313875460&sr=8-1 is far better and more funny, exciting and awe inspiring! give this film a wide birth!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Season Review- little more 23 May 2011

Having heard all the hype I was very dissappointed.

It is a very good season review but little more. It even uses the coverage from Eurosport that most bike fans will have been glued to all season. If you follow the season religiously, there's not much added here, if you missed a lot of the season this is a very good re-cap.

Dissappointed that Kiyo was so completely ignored. I appreciate that he wasn't a main charachter but pretty poor considering the result.

This is no TT Closer to the Edge, or Faster etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for bike racing fans 21 Nov 2011
This film is fantastic, actually saw it at the cinema and had to buy it when it came out.
It has fantastic footage of the bikes and you get a real insight into the riders and their motivation, especially enjoyed learning about Tommy Hill and Josh Brooks (who is often a little misunderstood).

I am a massive bike racing fan. This is a real insight in to the life behind the scenes. It's a honest and open film involving not just the crews but the family & friends as well.

***** Highly Reccommended. *****
