Product Description

From the Author

Stinky Face exploded into being almost instantaneously!
As I first read the manuscript to "Stinky", I was making little sketches in the margins and on the back of the paper. This story just lit almost every creative spark in me, and illustrating it was a total delight. How often does an artist get to draw an alligator, a skunk, an ape, and a cyclops all in the same book? Kids, parents, and even boyfriends really seem to love this one. One mom even told me that she had given this book to her teenage son on mother's day. Other parents have told me that they have curled up cozy and read this book every night for 2 years. That really makes me happy. Night after night some little person gets assured that somebody loves them, no matter how big and bad they might have been that day. Even when we're old and gray, we like to hear those words! I'm glad people have discovered this book and I encourage everyone to read it to someone they love no matter what...the story is just wonderful, and the illustrations downright excellent!!! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

VERY disappointed, as the picture clearly shows a book and the audio CD, this is what I expected to receive. Instead, there is just an audio CD, which means I now have to spend yet more money to purchase the book so that my nephew can read along. Quite frankly, I feel I have been ripped off. Not to mention that I ordered this item on 5th November and it only arrived on 6th December! NOT HAPPY.

My baby girl has loved this book since she was 3 months old! It's hard to find books that infants like, but something about the colorful illustrations really appeals to her. The book is just the right size for small hands and the cardboard pages are easy to turn - my baby learned to turn pages (and chew on books) thanks largely to this book. Also, I love the story and am never bored by it, which is not true of many other books for really young kids. A nightime favorite for everyone in our house!

this is a cute book. I would say the appropriate age might be more like 4 instead of 3. My 3-yr-old daughter is a little weirded out by the monsters, even if the pictures are drawn in a sweet way. The paperback version is flimsy and bends easily, pages not much thicker than magazine pages. It reads rather easily ("but mama, but mama, what if I were a slimy swamp creature... would you still love me then?" and so-on).

I knew I had to get this book when my son recited the whole book to me (he's 4 1/2 years old) after it was read to him at preschool just a couple of times! I sent this to all my family and friends (kids and adults) last year- showing them a kid's version of unconditional love. I think every family should have this book!

A great book, my son loved it (aged 5) and we read it twice on the first night.

Great pictures and characters - it captured my sons attention immediately and got across the important message of a mothers unconditional love.

I would most definitely recommend.

For two and three year-olds testing the boundaries of their lives, including a parent's love, this book will hit home on the first reading. "But Mama, would you love me if..." quickly became a game for our whole family-including our adolescent-aged children.

I bought this book because of the title, and my two girls CANNOT go to bed without at least one reading, every single night. The illustrations are great - especially the cyclops-bunny! This book is a great way to show kids how their mamas love them no matter what.

Despite the slightly insulting title (my son thinks it means me, and calls me stinky face!) this is a lovely little book, great for bed time story time and the illustrations are wonderful.
