I've been listening to Sian on Rinse for a bit (Sian and Julie's Mewzikbox is what got me listening), and got into Grime then.
Listening to this album, I have learned many new bits of slang. Along with the actual bars being spat by the artists, there are some instrumentals in there.
The album goes right from Jammer's "The Murkle Man" into Spooky's "Spartan" instrumental with a lot of heavy bouncing, promising an interesting auditory ride. The changeover from Spooky's heavy-hitting instrumental to a smooth up for Royal-T's "Inside the Ride" is nearly deceptive, only to surprise you with some buzzing and vibes. From there, it's face first into the verbal spray that is "Doomed" with Teddy Music and the Newham Generals. With just the first four tracks covered, I found myself hooked enough to finish the entire 44 track album.
And then put it on my tablet.
And my phone.
