4.0 out of 5 stars I,Marmite? 15 July 2014
I.Marmite, youre either gonna love or hate this, well,i cant make my mind up,it virtually takes up from the Robert de Niros Frankenstein, and comes 200 yrs into the future.Hes wanted for his secret to eternal life by like vampire creatures and is looked after by gargoyles. There are some cracking martial art like fights, the vampire like creature are not called vampires but can only be killed by silver and Frankenstein, now called"Adam"has a pair of lung chucks and gives them what for.all done in "Underworld and Van Helsing"type of movie,a pleasing waste of time as watches go.4 stars for special effects, but,Aaron Eckhart in my opinion miscast as the monster.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining take on a horror classic 5 July 2014

Not quite Mary Shelley, but highly entertaining all the same. A very different take on the original story but very enjoyable with good effects and a modern twist

3.0 out of 5 stars I, Frankenstein (DVD) 3 July 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
To be honest I bought this because I couldn't find anything else remotely interesting that grabbed me. I suppose it's the summer lull or something. We watched this with mixed expectations and it turned out to be a pleasant enough evening's entertainment, but nothing special. Aaron Eckhart did the best he could.

4.0 out of 5 stars 'BETTER THAN EXPECTED' 31 May 2014
By rbmusicman TOP 500 REVIEWER
Two Hundred years have passed since 'Victor Frankenstein' created a living being.
'Victor' died trying to find his creation to exact revenge for the death of his wife at
the hands of the creature, however 'Victor' had frozen to death in his pursuit.
The 'Demon Prince' failed to capture 'Victor's' creature back then because of the
intervention of 'Mankind's' protectors, 'The Gargoyles' who fight off the 'Demons'
the Prince had sent.
The Gargoyle Queen gives the creature a name 'Adam'
'Adam hides himself away until present day when he returns into civilization, he finds
things are very different today.
The Demon Prince 'Naberius' (Bill Nighty) after all these years still wants to capture
'Adam' ( Aaron Eckhart) to examine how he was brought to life by 'Victor' all those
years ago, 'Naberius' has an army of tens of thousands of corpses to bring back to life
under his command, at this stage 'Naberius' is unaware that 'Victor's' journal has survived
down the years.
The 'Gargoyles' lead as before by 'Leonore' (Miranda Otto) come to aid again of 'Adam'
'Adam' needs answers he befriends the scientist 'Terra' who is working at 'Naberius's'
Lab, but is unaware of who her boss really is.
If the corpses are given life, 'Mankind' could be wiped out, 'Adam' finds himself embroiled
in a deadly battle of 'Good against Evil'
(This release is in both 3-D and 2-D)
The film is jam-packed with stunning special effects, the 'Gargoyles' and 'Demons' a work
of art to behold, terrific battle/action scenes.....Many Critic's and Reviewers have slated
this spectacle, well, the film was made to entertain.......

2.0 out of 5 stars Really wouldn't bother 7 Jun 2014
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Disappointing film, good cast, half way descent sfx, just no script worth reading. The cast seem bored even the normally excellent Bill Nighy has no energy in this.
if you must see it rent it

3.0 out of 5 stars mmm... 6 July 2014
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Well, what's it all about? Computer generated action make it difficult to follow; a bit like that film Van Helsing - it's difficult to know who's doing what to whom (at times), plus the fight scene injuries sustained would in all probability kill you in real life...but then it isn't, is it? I'd probably only watch it a few times more.

1.0 out of 5 stars More CGI infested American Nonsense! 19 Jun 2014
I struggled to understand what this film had to do with the story of Frankenstein. It was full of CGI and the storyline was flimsy.
