An excellent recipe book, designed for children. Contains the recipes from the CBeebies TV programme. The book is clearly laid out with useful information in the introduction about kitchen equipment, cooking terms and the preparation of food. The recipes themselves are easy to follow and the ingredients should be readily obtainable. Each recipe is presented on two pages in a clear, attractive and simple format. I bought the book for my son as a Christmas present. He loves it and we have already followed some of the recipes without any problems. Worth buying for any child who likes the TV programme and is interested in cooking.

I've made a few of the recipes in this book and often the amounts dont seem quite right and the outcome is a bit bland - so its not been very inspiring and I tend to just use good recipes from 'adult' cookbooks and just get my son to help. I did try a bit of simultaneous cooking which did work quite well (ie set up 2 sets of everything) and the fromas frais cake was very nice. but we've kind of given up on this book and I wouldnt particularly recommend it. plus it isnt from the current series so you never see her make a particular recipe from the book!

This book is excellent for all young children who like cooking, the recipes sre all written so that children can make things independently. If you have watched the program on Cbeebies you will know what I mean! My daughter (aged 3 and a half) has already made the sausage kebabs and the lime and lemon cheesecake, both dishes were easy and fun to make. I think it is an excellent cook book!

I bought this item for my 21 month old daughter. My wife and daughter have done quite a bit of cooking together, but moistly this has been adult meals, cakes, buns etc.

My daughter is a big fan of Cbeebies and is particularly fascinated by the cookery programs. We had already bought her a children's cookery bowl to go with her cookery set our next door neighbour had bought her for her birthday.

The book is great. Lots of easy to do recipes with nice big clear pictures. Each recipe is illustrated step by step, and there are not difficult to follow. There is also a section on terminology - such has "popping a pepper" - I have to say, I had not got a clue what this meant. If you have a child that likes baking...this book is an ideal starter.

Recipes are for lunch, tea and sweet treats. All recipes do not have any complicated ingredients in...so with a bit of luck, there is no need to go shopping before you start. There are over 50 recipes in total so these should keep you going for a while.

Highly recommended.

My 4 year old Grandson loves to bake cakes and likes watching Kate on TV . i decided to buy this book with the DVD as a stocking filler and i thought the illustrations were clear and the recipes easy to do although i,m not sure that he would choose to eat some of them .
However most of them are really easy to make and healthy too !!

My 3 year old grandson makes a dish from this cookbook before going to preschool. The recipes are easy to follow for adults to teach to the child, the ingredients don't cost too much and my grandson can get his hands into the bowl mixing and tasting. When he can read he will also get a lot of pleasure from this colourful cookbook.

This is a wonderful first cookery book, both for pre-schoolers and beyond. Those who are familiar with the CBEEBIES programme of the same name will know that safety around kitchen equipment is given paramount importance. For instance, children's scissors are used (and even then, children are reminded that these are sharp too, so care is needed) instead of sharp knives for cutting up vegetables, fruit etc - and some vegetables are simply broken up by hand! This means that a very wide variety of dishes can be prepared by very small children, and I wish this book had been available when I was a child: in days of yore, if it didn't simply require mixing with a wooden spoon in a plastic bowl, then it didn't get made by pre-schoolers! This book was given as a gift for a 3rd birthday, and the little boy and his mummy have had a lot of fun with this book, producing proper, healthy meals for all the family. Buy it!!

If you are going to be cooking with young children this book is brilliant. I've tried a few other children's cookbooks and they are either a bit unoriginal or aimed at children a little older. This book contains all the recipes from the early shows and has a good variety of savoury and sweet recipes that are easy to do and taste great. It also contains a few recipes you'd expect (pizza, biscuits and cakes) and a few you wouldn't think you could do with young children. It uses all kind of clever tricks to make things suitable for the age like cutting spring onions with scissors. I use it a lot with my 4 year old and some of the recipes have even been suitable to use with my two year old. I thoroughly recommend it.
