A Brit-flick horror spoof with some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. IBAVM reminded me of Peter Jackson's Braindead (especially the vicar!) in places. Will probably also appeal to fans of Shaun of the Dead, although not as accomplished a movie as either of those classic comic-horrors.

Neil Morrissey isn't really oscar material, but he does a decent enough job here as the unfortunate biker N.Oddie who paid £1,100 (ssssh! The girlfriend may be listening!) for the vampire Norton. Michael Elphick is great as the halitosis-stricken cop, and the supporting cast all join in the fun in the right spirit.

Some of the gags are a bit lame. Others are pretty dated (do they still do that Strongbow ad?), but there are enough of them throughout to just about hold your interest. Oh and the toilet gag is a true show-stopper - I nearly spat my beer out at that point!

At this bargain price, IBAVM is certainly worth a look.

A bloody good laugh! 31 July 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
This is not only one of the best, but one of the funniest films I have ever seen. Neil Morrisey buys a motorcycle at a cheap price and later discovers it to be a vampire. It goes on a big killing spree and starts to dismember the public. It was also filmed around near where I live so it seems quite familiar. With hilarious jokes, gory fx and a great british cast including C3PO Anthony Daniels as a priest it is unmissable. Its absolutely great!

the cover of this dvd looks like it has been designed to appeal to the american splatter-film market.
in fact it is a very good, if sometimes bloody, british comedy.

i bought it on the strength of michael elphick, neil morrisey, and david daker from BOON having parts in it.

made in 1990, at the height of the BOON phenomenon, it's a low budget horror comedy about a possessed motorbike, and while belly laughs are few, the action and the characters whisk the film along quite nicely.

the surprise addition of a talking turd adds to the film's quirkiness.
yes............a talking turd.

certainly worth a look.
