Performances are all fantastic in this set and show how Elvis really felt strongly about gospel music. Away from dodgy film soundtracks and the forced hit-making process, this was his passion.
Despite the product description saying this is the most comprehensive overview of Elvis's gospel material ever assembled, it falls some way short against the previous collection (Peace In The Valley). That 3 CD set had 87 tracks whereas this 4 CD set has just 68! Notably the whole of the Million Dollar Session is left out along with Miracle Of The Rosary, 2 rehearsals from That's The Way It Is plus a few more home recordings along with one of Elvis's last live recordings of How Great Thou Art from June 1977. I guess for presentation, the box set has it but for value for money go for Peace In The Valley. This box set is fewer tracks spread over more CDs in a glossy package.
