Opened it up - read the "quickstart" document, which involves filling the unit with the supplied oil, a bit of unleaded petrol (not supplied !), prime it after switching the fuel on, and pull the pull chord. Off it goes !
As soon as its going, you move the choke lever across.
I ran a 700 Watt electric strimmer off of it for starters - no problems, and as expected, the electric strimmer was much louder than the generator itself. This is a quiet unit - and seems to be more quiet than the rather battered Honda generators I have rented in the past (maybe age causes them to be less quiet !).
The unit is heavy once its full of fuel, so if manually handling it - you don't want to carry it very far ! Easy to fit in the back of a small car as well - assuming you can lift it into the boot.
Main use for this unit was to use with amateur radio while out and about- and for that its great ! Nice clean power - and did not cause any interference (that was noticed) on the HF bands or 2M band. Kept going from about 10AM to 3PM without needing a refuel - although power draw was light.
