I think you need to be realistic about what you are paying for and what you expect.
I knew this wouldn't be all-singing all-dancing due to the price.
I bought it as a starter / taster machine. I reckon if I use this for very simple projects, stick with it and do OK.
If I use this and want to aim to do more complex stuff then, I'll invest in a more expensive more professional machine.
It's good for a starter.
It doesn't move too fast.
It's simple to use.
It's easy to thread.
It's NOT heavyweight.
It's NOT super-dooper.
BUT, for what you pay for it, it's a simple, good starter machine.
Don;t expect too much.
If you want something that will tackle big jobs then, you'll have to pay for it.
For simple, easy, small jobs, this is good.

As i sit here trying to sew with this machine, i felt compelled to express how i feel about it online! I'm a proffesional seamstress and before xmas, my wonderful Singer machine got damaged and I desperately needed a small back up machine to finish my work whilst the Singer was in for repair. I came across this little machine as it ticked all my boxes. all i wanted was a machine capable of sewing a straight line!
This machine sales for £50, sometimes you can pick one up cheaper. But regardless of how much you paid, you still need the machine to do the basics! You don't need a childs toy which is all this machine is good for.
1) You can be the best presician sewer in the world...you won't achieve it with this machine!
2) A basic need on a sewing machine are guide lines...their isn't any on this machine,
3) Simple to thread....but cotton will break- guaranteed
4) Fabric depth needs to be >3mm...fine but would help if foot and feed dogs held the fabric in place
I bought this machine in a sale so i can't return it for a refund. Im really annoyed. Im going to be selling it on. I wouldn't even reccomend this machine to school children or novice sewers. This machine will put them off for life!

after a long long search for a mini sewing machine...came across this one...read all the customer reviews at amazon and other sites ..but thought this would be the best choice for under £30...clicked the button; purchased it..no delivery charge( super saver delivery)...got it the very next day before 12..yoohoo..!! am so glad that I own it..hope it works well for a long long time..I am a beginner ..knew nothing about sewing..this machine was relatively easy to thread ...played with it a little while and figured out how to work with it..I love this little thingy!! :)

AVOID!
I should have believed the poor reviews. This machine started out badly and got worse. Spent more time re-threading as the thread kept snapping or skipping stitches. Read more

OK beginner sewing machine.
This machine is OK for beginners who only do simple sewing jobs. Anything more fancy would require a "real" heavy-duty machine. Good for teaching a child to sew!
