From the description I thought that this was a role-playing game, but I was wrong; it's a puzzle game. I would call the video (on the product page) very misleading.

That said, it's not a bad game, just nothing special. You are a nurse and have to direct patients as they enter the hospital, then send them to the correct department and (where applicable) take them their medicine from the pharmacy. You can buy new machines and other 'furniture', and then sell them again, but that's about it. In each new level, there are new machines etc available to buy.

Within its limitations it is fun, but if you don't like puzzle games I suspect you won't like this at all.

I found a bug that happens on levels with an elevator - that sometimes it 'sticks' and the nurse just won't go to the desired floor. Clicking repeatedly from nurse to elevator floor to patient and back (several times) eventually clears the problem, but it's not ideal, and is something that should have been picked up in testing.

A mild alternative time management game for those who liked Diner Dash or Cake Mania. As a male or female nurse your job is to direct patients to triage, xray, surgery, physio and so on within an alloted time. Each level has a minimum patient and earnings quota you have to reach to progress to the next level, with the earnings you can purchase new equipment to keep your patients satisfied, however, you can never afford the equipment you really, really want which is just as well because you don't really need it! Graphics are good and character actions are controlled by the styllus. Either I was just very good at the game or the game just wasn't very good because I never felt particularly challenged as I worked through the 7 different hospitals. The endless game seems to be where gamers will find the challenges. That said, I didn't hate the game and at the price I can't complain so I awarded the game 3 stars because it was just okay.

Got this over the weekend, wasn't looking to buy this game in particular just wanted a new DS game & settled on Hysteria Hospital as it looked kinda fun. And I was right (love it when I'm right!) Really enjoyed playing this game, it starts off quite easy but it soon builds up and gets faster until you've got a load of patients, loads of floors & too many diseases to heal aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhh! If you want a fun game for the DS Hysteria Hospital is deffo the way to go!

This is a decent game- it's a basic idea but is really fun to play! I imagined it to be a bit more complex like the old Theme Hospital PC game but it's more simple but somehow addictive. It is fairly easy to complete though and I'm always a bit slow with games so it does have limits!
Having to direct the patients to the correct equipment is good for multi-tasking skills! I don't play my DS loads- and get bored with some games which seem never-ending- which is why this game was great! I kept wanting to go back and play it again..it's the most enjoyable game I've had.

OH DEAR - I WAS QUITE EXCITED WHEN I SAW THIS WAS BEING RELEASED - HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN A BIG FAN OF THEME HOSPITAL [CD ROM] [SAD BUT TRUE!!!] AND THOUGHT IT HAD MADE A TRANSITION TO DS FORMAT. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! I THINK THAT IT IS UNCESSARILY COMPLICATED AND VERY REPETITIVE - GOT BORED WITH REPEATING THE SAME OPERATIONS OVER AND OVER AGAIN - NOT CHALLENGING ENOUGH!!!

I FEEL THE DEISGNERS NEED TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND TRY AGAIN!!!!

This game is easy to get addicted to and I found myself playing for hours. The goals are simple, the controls easy and the difficulty increased only slightly at each level. the new equipment available at each level are great fun and this game is great for everyone...big and small kids alike.

I've plodded my way through the different levels and am currently stuck on level 5 in Los Angeles Central Hospital... try as I might I'm struggling to balance costs with service.

Good fun and very frustrating at the same time!

Hysteria Hospital has the potential to be a fun little game along the lines of Cake Mania and Diner Dash, but it feels utterly broken to me. I found it impossible to progress as the game asks you to upgrade your hospital with different types of equipment, but it's impossible to make enough money to buy them. You barely get enough patients in to cover your patient quota every level, and if more than about two of them ask for equipment you don't have, you can't win the level, therefore you can't earn the money to BUY said equipment, and so you can't progress! I gave up in the end because banging my head against the wall would have been a better use of my time! A little bit longer in development would have helped...
