Hypoglycemia for Dummies is BY FAR the best book in the field. It advocates the holistic approach described above, provides a high level overview of the science, and practical advice on dealing with Hypoglycemia. It is the first and only book I have found which deals with hypoglycemia in this way.
If you have read any of the other 'classic texts' you'll see they are often very severe (e.g. you must eat broccoli and nothing much else), or are very insufficiently detailed and patronising. Up till now I haven't been a Dummies fan, but this really is the best book on Hypoglycemia. If you suffer, get it today.
