Product Description

Product Description

This handbook is intended for those professionals who are concerned with the management and treatment of medical and psychological disorders and the counselling of people with behavioural and emotional problems, and who wish to learn more about the application of hypnosis to their work. The book assumes no prior knowledge of hypnosis on the reader's part, and the first two chapters provide an introduction to the subject. The remaining chapters cover the use of hypnosis with psychological, sexual and physical problems and in medicine and dentistry - there are also chapters on hypnotherapy with children, and on professional and legal issues.

Before we can begin to understand the nature of hypnotherapy, its rationale, its aims, and the practical manner whereby these aims are realized, or at least attempted, we must first direct our attention to the nature of hypnosis itself. Read the first page

Matter of Fact 6 Oct 2010

Whilst this book has a few statistics and academic facts that could be useful, Inspirational not, more like having my high school maths teacher writing about hypnosis. I have a feeling that success stories of hypnosis would be far greater if some of the academic non charismatic dullards were not a part of the statistics. Monotony is one way of inducing trance ....think I prefer the approach of Bandler and Grinder , Overdurf and Silverthorn , David Caloff, Gilligan and others as I'm sure they inspired their clients as well as their readers.
If you're adding volume to you big library or you're an academic researcher this books ok. If you want great works buy Tranceformations , Training Trances, Elmans Hypnotherapy. Just my opinion.

This book is a bit starchy and achademic for the hypnotherapist who wants simple, useful information.
