This is a cheap version of the Gorillapod - View it here, and it does the job fine, especially at the new and used price of £2.99 + p&p. As the other reviewer says, it works better with compact digital cameras rather than SLRs.

It's great for long-exposure shots where there's nowhere flat to rest the camera - it can even hang upside down from things. Fantastic.

It is made from plastic, so it's durability remains unknown.

It is a clever design which works pretty well, you can bend the legs of the tri-pod to grip objects, it is very light and easy to handle. The only disadvantage is that it can not support heavy cameras well, the soft bendy legs collapse and you have to fiddle around a lot to get it to balance.

I got this to use with my VPC-CS1 camcorder, and it does the job admirably. It's light, easy to manipulate and clings to almost anything. It isn't the most sturdy tripod. Just for a test, I attached my (very heavy) Nikon D200 to it, and it could barely hold it up. In fact, if the camera wasn't perfectly centred, it COULDN'T hold it up. But, for small, pocket cameras, I think that it can really do the job well. For the price, I think that it's excellent.

We bought 3 of these stands last year for ourselves and friends to take away on holiday. They were that good that we ordered some more to give to other friends. They are small but do the job that we wanted them for, we use them for setting the camera up and set it on timer, you are able to wrap it round anything and is very stable.

I am so pleased with this mini tripod, it is an imitation of the Gorillapod which I haven't used but I imagine that there isn't a noticeable difference :] Don't think about it.. Buy it !!
