Installed this RAM into a Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77X-D3H Motherboard and it was as simple as boot the machine up, the MB and RAM are both XMP compatible so the RAM ran at 2400Mhz without a glitch and with a 3570k Overclocked to 4.7Ghz. This RAM will also run no problem at 2666Mhz but you will need to change the timing manually and honestly its fast enough at 2400Mhz!

I also go it for around £46 which was a complete bargain for RAM this fast!

I actually purchased this RAM from Ebuyer back in September (alongside an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard). However, I am so impressed with this RAM that I decided to purchase another 8GB (2x4GB) via Amazon. I was initially apprehensive buying from Amazon because if you scroll down and read the item description it says 2133MHz and not 2400MHz. There is only one way to find out for sure. If it does transpire to be the wrong frequency, I can always return it. Amazon, can you please let me know if it is 2133MHz or 2400MHz?.

I have always preferred to use Kingston RAM over Corsair vengeance, etc because Kingston has never given me any compatibility issues with motherboards or faulty modules, etc. On top of that, Kingston RAM is very competitively priced for the high spec.

It took me a while to figure out how to clock it to the full 2400MHz on the Asus Crosshair V Formula Z. This is how to do it -

Set AI overclock tuner to manual.
CPU level up - select cancel.
AMD turbo core - select disable.
Memory frequency - deselect auto, but do not choose a frquency just yet.

Now scroll down to DRAM timing control. Select this option. It will take you into the next page. In top left hand corner, there is an option that says 'load optimum 4GB settings'. Select yes/ok. The motherboard then automatically alters RAM CAS latency to maximum parameter (on mine it is 10-12-11-28). Then exit this page and go back to main BIOS page. Now go to 'memory frequency' option. Select 2400MHz option. Save changes and exit. When pc reboots, press delete key at post page and you will get straight into main BIOS page. At will say at the top of the page, your cpu frequency and RAM frequency. You will see that mobo successfully clocked RAM to full 2400MHz. Finish!

Before you buy these check that your motherboard is capable of using the full speed or most of the speed. These are faster than most boards can exploit but they will operate at lower levels.

In my case my board defaults to 2133hz but that is noticably quicker than 1600hz. The board can be overclocked to get to 2400hz but this is slightly beyond my easy grasp.

Nonetheless I am pleased as these are solid reliable and extremely good value. They are the same price as slower RAM so I do not know why anyone would buy anything else. Kingston Hyper X is also generally very highly regarded in reviews.

Therefore if you need DDR3 RAM buy this. (I have absolutely no affiliation to this product or the supplier)

My system has an FX-8350 in a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard. As part of setting up with this memory kit I've learnt 10 times more about the process than I knew before I bought it. Got it backwards of course, I should have done the research first, and then I would have learned than 2133MHz seems to be the max recommended speed for FX processors at standard clock speeds and 2000MHz is the stated limit for the motherboard. And my experience is that I can't get it to run at 2400MHz on any almost timings, at 1.65V or even 1.70V. But actually it's fine at 2133Mhz so that supports the background of evidence. Timings I'm using are 1T 10-12-11-30 (plus -5-160-16-8-46-6 if it makes any difference) at 1.60V. The MaxxMem benchmark gives 11.4/12.3/5.3/8.8Gb/sec 57ns.

One star off for not making it clear it's only good for 2133MHz on AMD3+ setups at stock speeds but the mistake was mine. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, the performance is excellent and so is the value for money. Plus they look good.

Installed on a gigabyte z77x-ud3h rev 1.1 motherboard.
In bios i choose XMP Profile 1 and that's it! Works on 2400Mhz without problems.
NH-D14 noctua heatsink marginally fits (i have placed some rubber spacers to avoid contact with the ram sticks).

Recommended.

I bought this ram on the basis that my motherboard (Asrock Extreme 4 990fx) supported speeds of up to 2400mhz and that this ram was reasonably priced.

The product itself was very easy to install. Slotted it in and it was recognised instantly. My motherboard defaulted to a clock rate of 1866mhz but increasing the speed up to 2400mhz was seemless.

Also is ram allowed to be sexy? Because this stuff definitely is!
