Is My Birthday Here Yet????,
By
This review is from: Hurry Up, Birthday! (Paperback)
Holidays are something we look forward to with great anticipation. Especially when we are children. Children can't wait until their birthday arrives. Visions of parties, presents, friends and a huge birthday cake fill their thoughts. In this story, it is the day before Bouncer's birthday and he is trying to get the day to hurry up so he can get to his birthday. His mother helps by giving him plenty to do to make the day pass more quickly. Then when the big day finally arrives, he tries to make it pass as slowly as possible...after all, it does only come once a year! A delightful book for young children, especially as a pre-birthday gift.

Perfect birthday gift!,
This review is from: Hurry Up, Birthday! (Hardcover)
This story perfectly captured the excitement of my four year old waiting for her birthday to come! Bouncer the Bunny is so excited he tries to make time race so that his birthday will come sooner, but everything he sees and does reminds him that he still has to wait. When his birthday finally does come, he wants to savour every moment. The book was given as a gift with instructions to open the day *before* -- a great bed-time read for the soon-to-be birthday girl. There is a lot here to talk about with a child, we've read this one over and over. Paeony Lewis's text is gently funny and direct, just right for the audience. Sarah Gill's illustrations complement the story beautifully. Highly recommended.
