Format:Audio CD
I first heard this album backstage in April last year when producer Ivor guest played it (I know - lucky me !) and I've been awaiting it's release ever since. After some delays it now finally is set for release with stunning artwork on the cover. THe 9-track Hurricane album was not yet released in the USA so to make it attractive for USA buyers a bonus 'dub' disc is added. Instead of releasing this as a single disc in Europe it is being re-released here along with the original album. However, the 'dub' disc ('the ultimate stoner album I'd say) alone is worth the purchase. Ivor Guest used several outtakes / riffs / (backing) vocals not used in the final Hurricane album mix. 'Dub' has less vocals than the original tracks but listening to it is like a hypnotizing ride. You just GOTTA hear it !
After the original album, the instrumental promo album and this amazing 'dub' album it's now looking forward to all new Grace Jones material. And guess what; that is in the works too !!! At age 63 Grace Jones is fiercer than ever. Or as website TMZ labeled her; "The ORIGINAL Lady GaGa". Grace sure is !!!

The new dub of Hurricane is a good, old-school style version, with plenty of spacey effects coupled with sparse vocals in a structured-song format. It might have been a good idea to push the envelope and recognise current dubstep influences, but maybe that's not the point: Ms Grace Jones is still a timeless force.

I'm amazed at how much I love this album! I just wanted to let people know that while the vinyl version is only the "Dub" album, there is a download coupon inside for both "Hurricane" and "Hurricane Dub" mp3 versions.
