Well, the author did of course! I found this book to be very witty and gives the reader an insight into many of the lower league clubs in Scotland, you know the ones i.e not Celtic or Rangers. The book expands on your general run of the mill Football Grounds Guide, telling you the best places to eat and drink before going to the game, who each clubs rivals are and there are many amusing moments with some of the wackiest and also most loyal fans. There are many decent photos in the book too.

This book is like a blog in print - and a rather dull one at that. Endless references to pies and pints but very few telling observations of the games and its grounds. The format - with far too many sub-headings for each ground visited - hinders rather than helps. The author's repeated attempts at humour soon become wearying. The pics are poor too.

Captures the spirit of the Scottish game!

I'm devoted to Scottish football, travel to Scotland several times a year to see my team play, and love the fans, the atmosphere, (the pies) -- I could go on and on. But I don't have to because this witty and well-written book says it all. It's a complete treat, even though my team got short shrift, in my opinion. But of course that would be my opinion, because I'm a Scottish football fan! I'm certainly going to be looking for more by this author.
