Hunter Original Short Gloss Wellington Boots
Cut shorter on the leg to enable greater flexibility for the wearer. The Original Gloss Short in rich jewel like colours, looks good enough to eat and begs to be noticed. Built on the Original last, it delivers the legendary orthopaedic fit and all round comfort you expect from a Hunter boot. As a symbol of British life, the Original Gloss Short exudes personality and attracts a fun loving wearer! This shorter length makes it easy to slip on and light work of tucking in bulky trousers, and an excellent choice for popping to the shops.

They really are still the best quality rubber wellington boot available for the money. The calf width of these boots is just about wide enough for the SLIGHTLY wider calf. I found the boot a little too narrow over the arch of the foot. So, if you are only SLIGHTLY wider in the calf or foot then they will fit, but wont take a decent sock.
If, like me, you are somewhat wider than average, dont bother. I was disapointed that I had to return mine as the only other Hunter boot suitable is the Ladies Huntress but only available in full length and those rotten original Hunter colours. So, please Hunter designers, make the Huntress available in the shorter length, in lovely colours and with the same Huntress calf and foot widths.If you did I would have a pair in each colour, promise!

Love the boots, however, they look almost burgundy on the internet. When they arrived the boots are very violet.
Now I know the description says violet.
But the boots have none of the red tone that shows on the picture.
Whatever, I am keeping the boots!!!

These wellies are great, look amazing and have a good shape. I'm a 4.5 so bought the 5, definitely need thick socks with them but they're great.
The only downside is the finish of the rubber at the heel of the boot, it's not perfect. No one else would know but I figured if wellies come in a box they should be perfect!
Note the Hunter fleece socks are only made for the standard longer boot - although the person I emailed said they could be "rolled down" to fit in the short boot. Not sure if I'll try that or not.
