Product Description

Donna is on the wrong end of a high-power assault rifle, with a 4000 year old demon’s trigger finger on the other. He’s promised to blow her brains out if she gets any closer.

She takes a step…toward the monster.

Until that day, Donna was enjoying her new life. Married to the man of her dreams, raising the child they had together, spending time with her best friend…what more could a girl want?

How about a chance to save the world?

The opportunity arrives when a strange, beautiful woman befriends Donna and then kidnaps her baby. To get her little girl back, Donna must do what’s humanly impossible...and maybe inhumanely impossible, too.

With the help of a fallen Underworld goddess, a vengeful demon, and her own new-found strength, Donna must rescue her baby and the world.

You have Cassie, Dawn baby and Mo baby in this one as well
the book is centre around Dawn and Howie who owns the gun shop that sells things to Vampires and demons.
He hate humans and has a name for all of them, but you will grow to love him
There is a sex scene in it which funny with Cassie and Howie
Also you will be laugh when Mo has to empty a cat litter tray and feed the cat

5.0 out of 5 stars More vampy stuff 16 May 2013
By Parker Pen TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
More tales of vampires, and minions, good v bad and a good romp between this world and the one of fantasy, mind reading and strange dreams!

A love affair that involves immortal souls reunting over many lifetimes, and defeating the evil brother, and fighting to get souls back that were stolen.

A good jaunt and piece of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun read - I love Howie Evil 25 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"Dawn of the Hunter" by Bonnie Bernard is a fantastic second book in the Midnight Hunter series.
Donna is married to a Vampire and mother to Lucinda, a special baby that is the keeper of the Prophecy and therefore has importance to several creatures of the Underworld. Said Underworld is crawling with demons, monsters, vampires and gods and when Lucinda is kidnapped Donna needs the help of evil Demon Howie, a nasty piece of work who just might have a little grain of goodness in his heart.
Howie is an amazing creation by the author and a fantastic addition to the cast of this series; he is unfriendly, swears, is rude and yet ever so often he shows the glimpse of a softer side.
The book then follows an equally interesting and entertaining set of characters as they fight over Lucinda and her soul. Characters from the first book return and mix things up as much as the new arrivals on the scene.
This second book in the series is even better than the first, maybe I got into the mind of the author more, but I hugely enjoyed this book. If Howie is anything to go by then the series promises to be a runaway success, but there is an abundance of great creatures in there, be it Howie's love interest Cassie or the fallen goddess that helps Donna to get in touch with Howie in the first place.
While the first book set up the scene Bernard took full advantage of the freedom a second book allows an author and has created a highly recommendable sequel. A real fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 17 July 2012
By Janie
Format:Kindle Edition
I received this book straight from the author on a read & review basis.

It was an excellent and gripping read the Friendship between Donna (mortal) and Howie (4000 yr old demon) keeps you wanting to read more. This follows on from the 1st book Midnight Hunter and the story carries on very nicely. I am now off to read the third and final book as I cannot wait to find out the ending of this fantastically gripping story line.

Definitely a MUST!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than book 1. Great laughs, great read 2 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Donna is happily married to Hunter and raising their first child, Lucinda. Best friend Mo is doing her best to raise her son, not quite alone. She's a frequent visitor and is now seeing Trent. All is not peace and harmony though. Mo still doesn't like Hunter and the feeling is mutual. She also doesn't like Donna's newest friend, Jacqelina, whom she feels is up to no good. Of course, Mo's right.

Lucinda is kidnapped and Donna gets a visit from the disgraced Underworld goddess of beauty. Alicia tells her she will need the help of the demon Howie Evil to rescue her daughter. Instead of waiting for help from the vampires she and Hunter share the house with like she was told, Donna rushes off like the fearful mother she is to demand his help. The contrary, ornery demon comes through, not only restoring Lucinda to her mother, but rescuing the Prophecy Reader as well.

Howie is such a character. He owns a gun shop and creates special weapons for his supernatural customers. He also hates "stupid" humans. Of course, there aren't any smart ones, but that's beside the point. Howie kept me in stitches. He is so hateful you pretty much have to love him. His behavior is contrary to what he says. He makes it his goal to keep the stupid humans afraid of him, but that doesn't last for very long. Howie is full of Bernard's signature wit. Even though he's a supporting character, Howie is one of my favorite in this story. No matter how rude or offensive he gets, I just can't help smiling.

The Child of the Prophecy and the Prophecy Reader must be protected at all costs. That job seems to be much easier than convincing Donna's and Mo's parents of the need to move in with Donna and Hunter for their own safety. They also have to convince their parents demons and vampires exist.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Paranormal Romp of a book 22 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the second of Bonnie Bernard's Midnight hunter trilogy and in my opinion is better than the very good first book.

The Author has a gift for characterisation and in Howie Evil produces a character who you will remember forever.

Some of the unanswered questions from the first book are resolved and the protagonists come up against the main villains from the first book again.

This is a well written piece of fun that stands some conventions on their heads during a well paced novel.

I liked this book so much that I started reading book three within minutes of finishing this one!
