Product Description

Product Description

An outstanding new picture book with an extremely simple text - full of humour with a brilliant twist at the end. Hungry Hen eats and eats and grows fatter and fatter. High on the hill the fox watches and grows thinner and thinner. Until one day he can stand it no longer, but things do not turn out as expected!

It's amazing how so much drama can be squeezed into such a short book. The pictures are wonderful, and my nephew takes this to bed every night.

Excellent Read! 19 May 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Well, What can i say about this book. It's fabulous. Richard Waring teaches at my school and he takes an activity called Story Writing. After you read this book, you will know why. This book is a great read. I bought it for my little cousins and they always get me to read it to them. It's their favourite book and always pick ito ut at story time. The illustration is great and the use of language is clear and understandable for young children.

A truly dreadful book 31 Jan 2010
By E. King
Format:Paperback
This book is actually quite frightening for young children. There is something very disturbing about the way the fox grows thinner and thinner whilst rejoicing in the fattening of the hen. The break in to the hen coop is a very disturbing image and the 'twist' is extremely unpleasant. The book very abruptly ends on a truly horrific note. If it were possible to award no stars I would!
