This is volume III of a series documenting the decades, opera by opera. The great joy in these box sets is seeing the transition from the classical era of Salieri to the bel canto era of Rossini and Bellini. But don't expect every track to be a masterwork. Excellent recordings. Fine notes texts and translations.
