This book is truly wonderful. Like so many amazing books 'out there' this is a gem, written by someone who has really 'lived'. Not only does it explain Huna spirituality beautifully, but it gives you real practical exercises you can do to get to know who is really driving you: Your subconscious...

Your sub/unconscious literally runs everything - have you ever tried to lose weight only to find when you relax that it all goes back on again? That is because your unconscious (due to conditioning) has already created a default weight setting for you. It is only when you begin a relationship with yourself, that you can find out what programs you have going on in there - and you can actually start to change them.

The book does not give you a full toolset to change everything (it does for weight issues), there are a number of other really helpful books and programs to do that, however in my experience, knowing what is already going on inside is an excellent place to start. By using a pendulum and the questions in this book, you can start to build a fabulous relationship with yourself. I have subsequently used the pendulum to help me make all sorts of choices consciously instead of deciding one thing, only to have my unconscious sabbotage my efforts in some other way. I am living life in harmony and alignment with myself.... bliss!

BEST Self-Help Manual Ever! 16 Dec 2007
By Darren Fox - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Originally I met Enid Hoffman thru the late Ronald A. Parshley and even have a copy of the original course that this book came from, "You Too Can Be A Kahuna". When Ron told me about this book, it was at the perfect time in my life to learn about it. Why? Because I needed to get my head screwed on straight and by learning to focus and talk to my Unihipili (Low Self) I made strides to my better well being.

I sat with my home made pendulum, a blank notebook, a good pen and this book and worked my way thru the questions asking each one in turn and then waiting for my Unihipili to speak thru the pendulum. It was arduous, long but WELL WORTH the effort! I learned specific things about my Low Self that I did not know and that enabled me to see things clearly where I was unable to see but a fog before!

If you must own ONE self-help book, you simply M-U-S-T buy this book and then more importantly devour it as you work your way thru it. DO the work by using a pendulum, pen and paper because it will help you learn things that you never thought possible thru your Low Self. Do not fool yourself thinking you can just read it and Voila! you're cured and your life will be great. No! You MUST sit and do the exercises so you can make contact with your Unishipili.

Later if you wish to delve deeper into the Long Method of Huna, then obtain his books and read them as adjuncts to Enid's book. This is THE book to start with and work thru! But most importantly, for it to really hit home, DO THE WORK suggested in it!!!

finally, a huna book worth reading! 5 Dec 2007
By O. A. Stephano - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I can say without reservation that this is the best Huna book I've ever read (including Max Freedom Long's foundational texts). Hoffman gives incredibly thorough sections on the three selves, giving cogent and complete information as well as a variety of fine exercises. The book really is built as a sort of beginner's course, so she progresses through the material methodically. Her writing style is engaging and a little old-fashioned, which I enjoyed, and she doesn't wallow in some of the more cloyingly New-Age aspects of Huna. The book does make use of the somewhat outdated left/right brain theory, but even there one can find plenty of useful information. If you're interested in learning more about Huna, this is the book to get.

Mixes Huna with Psychological Language 6 May 2008
By R. Morell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I read this book in conjunction with two other books on Huna, one by M.F. Long and the other by Brad Steiger. They all three basically say the same things, but they take different tacks. I found all three useful in their own ways, actually. I can't say that I personally have a favorite, though I will say about Ms. Hoffman's book that it was perhaps the deepest in both good and not-so-good ways.

Be prepared, readers! She really delves into the use of Huna for psychological healing and all that entails. I found myself reading merrily along for the first couple of chapters. When she starts really talking about the low and the middle selves though, I had to slow down and remember to breathe. There's a lot here, and I'm an intrepid explorer of inner realms, but I had to actually had to skip about half of the Unihipili chapter because I couldn't handle all the intensity it brought up for me.

The pendulum work at the end is also really helpful. I haven't yet tried to do that element, but I look forward to working with my low-self--aka "Nephesh", "Fetch" and "Vivi" via various other traditions--and get to know "My Otter."
