About the Author
Kate Westaway is one of the world s most accomplished and intrepid underwater photographers. For her, being underwater is the perfect antithesis to the world above the waves; away from technology and human disturbance there s just the gentle sway of the current and the noise of your breath. It forces you to slow down and is a great place to potter. It is also a great place for adventure. She studied Underwater Photography at Falmouth College of Art in Cornwall, Englanbd from 1997-2000. She cut her teeth on trips to the Red Sea and pool work involving subjects that spent time underwater, synchronised swimmers, babies learning to swim, surf life savers who were training. She fell in love with water and those that inhabit it.

This book is absolutely lovely. It's a fantastic mixture of incredible photography, a great story behind the photographs and some very interesting and educational facts about whales. Despite this book being written for adults, kids absolutely love it as it has lots of diagrams and interesting facts about the animals, plus it is an easy, engaging read.
Thoroughly recommended for both adults and children alike - a must have on the bookshelf!
