I bought this item back in Sept. 29th 2011. My fault as I did not check item worked until now Jan 4th 2012 (as I did not need to use it until now) Well I could not get it to work ? as I have missed the return date I decided to see what the problem was ?
Basically this is a sealed at the factory fish finder, (wireless) So when the battery is dead you throw it away, but at least you get approximately 500 hours battery life out of it. Not in my case, I am a technician to trade so I decided to investigate why my one failed to work ? Nothing to lose as I cant return it. So I carefully cut open the sealed plastic unit at the seam
and revealed a circuit board and underneath this should be a battery ! well not on this one, some one at the factory had forgotten to put one in...just my luck.
So I did get it a cheaper than normal price, but suffered for it. £30 down the drain.

In need of a new sensor, I bought one from Amazon as it was the best price that I could find, but when I came to use it, it only worked two or three times before it started to show the signs of a flat battery before it died completely. As I had disposed of all the packaging etc a good while previous to using it, I could not determine its manufacturing dates etc and as they have a limited shelf life, I have reason to suspect it may have been old stock. I now need to buy a new one but will get it from a tackle shop where the turnover of stock is more frequent.
