"You will move against the wall! All of you!"

That's how this episode starts, as the Cyber Leader orders the aliens on the planet Lonsis.

This is `Part 2' of `Human Resources' following on from 'Part 1'. The Cybermen dominate this first prologue sequence as they sort everybody on this alien planet. I absolutely love this opening sequence as it's scary and terrifying when the Cybermen speak. The Cybermen are a mixture of new series and 'The Invasion' voices which is brilliant! The Cyber Leader gives orders to its units and they comply saying `Understood' before stomping off. I can't tell you how memorable and exciting this opening sequence is for me and I find myself listening to it over and over again.

The Doctor is forced to surrender his sonic screwdriver and the Time Ring by the Cybermen, denying that they're weapons. The Cybermen insist and the Doctor reluctantly gives them wondering how he's going to get them back.

This second disc is about 70 minutes approx in length.

The Cybermen was wonderfully voiced by Nicholas Briggs. Despite their `Invasion' look on the front cover, I can't help but think they're new series Cybermen that speak with a glowing blue mouth when talking to Hulbert and the Doctor. I enjoyed it when Jerry Copper picks up the phone and the Cyber Leader talks through it making threats and demands, and Jerry in his delusional mind thinks it's one of the workers called Kieran and laughs it off.

eighth and last [although a second season is on the way] in the first season of audio adventures for the eighth doctor who and his companion, feisty northern girl lucie miller. These cd's contain stories that are either complete in fifty minutes or are two parters. Just like the current tv series.

This is the conclusion of a two part story, that also brings all the ongoing story arcs that have run throughout this season to a head.

See the review of part one for some of the plot details. It ended on a big cliffhanger with the unexpected arrival of an old foe [I won't give it away, but they are on the box] and now the doctor has to fight to save lots of lives. And discover the truth about lucie.

There's a lot to get through in this one, and it doesn't disappoint. It isn't quite as good a second parter as blood of the daleks part two as there's a lot going on in it and it gets a bit crowded, but it's still a very satisfying epic. I look forward to further adventures from this tardis crew, because they have a wonderful chemistry together. The cd does end with a trailer for them, and a trailer for the forthcoming the girl who never was. Which is the final story featuring the eighth doctor's earlier companion charley. I just thought to mention this because it doesn't say 'coming soon from big finish' before these, so you might get confused.

Don't get this in isolation, as you'll get more from them by hearing them in order. Start with blood of the daleks part one

First released in 2006, this is the eighth episode of a of the first standalone series for Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor outside of the monthly range of Big Finish releases. This is a one disc release, with a single 50 minute episode. There are some interviews with cast and crew at the end of the disc.

This is the second part of a two part story that wraps up the first season. Picking straight up from the cliffhanger at the end of part one, the Doctor realises the truth and just what a terrible mistake he has made. Pretty soon we are thrust into a thrilling adventure as the Doctor and Lucie struggle to defeat Cybermen, whilst simultaneously unravelling the Time Lord's interventions and working out just what is REALLY going on.

It's another fun run around for Eight and Lucie, with a script that just crackles with energy. McGann and Smith are on top form, clearly having a lt of fun. But there are some darker moments here, which they also handle very well to make this a really top drawer episode. T's a great way to wrap up the season, 5 stars.
