Karan Kapoor and Rhea Prakash meet for the first time in a flight bound from Delhi to New York. They just cannot stand each other: Rhea is disgusted by Karan's flirtatious mannerisms and Karan is frustrated because of Rhea's overt seriousness. They have a massive fallout and part ways, vowing never to see each other's face again. Destiny brings them together again at Rhea's marriage ceremony three years later and the mars vs. venus war continues. Rhea gets married and leaves for USA. Four years later, Karan has become a successful cartoonist and travels to Paris to visit his father. Co-incidentally he meets Rhea again and learns that her husband is no more. Karan tries earnestly to bring happiness back in Rhea's life by promising her mother that he will find a suitable groom for Rhea but the duo never realizes that they are drawing closer to each other. Will love happen? And if it does, will the star-struck couple ever admit to it? Watch the breezy romantic musical comedy Hum Tum for the answers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasure 11 Aug 2007
By Dichon
Format:DVD
This is a romantic comedy that leaves you with a warm feeling inside. It helps that the main actors are Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan, two of Hindi cinema's best. Abischek Bachchan, another great, puts in a beautiful cameo.

The film is about 2 people who keep meeting over about 10years, and hit it off in a love hate kind of way each time. Their relationship is genuinely entertaining. Khan plays a commitment phobic comics artist who falls in love with Mukerji's character, Rhea, without intending to, and who seriously panics when he realises it. This leaves Rhea broken hearted and she leaves town. Khan realises how stupid he has been and tries to find her but without sucess till he meets her again years later at a launch for his graphic novel.

The script is well writtin. The film quirkly directed- animated sequences of Khan's comic strip (which mirror his own life)are beautifully interspersed with the main narrative, almost as if they were providing running commentaries on the main film action. And the songs and dance numbers are gorgeous and funny.

Even if you are not a hindi film fan, this should entertain you nicely. Enjoy....

4.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch Film 7 Nov 2006
By Hippo
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Mrs was watching this film and I watched a few minutes, then a few more and before I knew it I was really into this film, the cinematography is excellent and Indian women are the most beautiful in the world.

It is not the deepest film I have ever seen but for a supposed remake of When Harry Met Sally this is by far the superior version, you just cant help liking every character, they are all flawed but deeply human.

This film is by far the most accessable Bollywood I have ever seen, I even like the dancing and singing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very funny film. 6 Nov 2006
Format:DVD
This was on TV not so long ago and I couldn't stop watching. The film is subtitled because it is spoken in a different language, but it didn't stop me from watching. Its a little cheesey although very funny. It has some good songs in too.
