The Boy from Hulme - What a Carry On!,

This review is from: Hulmerist [DVD] [2009] (DVD)
At last, this stunning compilation is released on DVD after being deleted on video for many years. Classic Morrissey videos are inter-cut with cameos of fans and performances at the free gig Morrissey played in Wolverhampton. Highlights include: Jason Rush in Last of the Famous International Playboys, and schoolboys in stilettos and Diana Dors in the NME in Interesting Drug. Worth the cost of the DVD alone, however, the video for November Spawned a Monster; one of the most thrilling videos you will ever see, and it’s five minutes of Morrissey in a blouse dancing and crooning around Mushroom Rock in Death Valley, California: amazing. A must-have for Morrissey fans.

Buy this DVD now, if only for the superb live rendition of 'Sister I'm A Poet' from the free Wolverhampton gig, which far outstrips the later version on Beethoven Was Deaf.Other highlights include the high camp of Interesting Drug ('Hawtry High School For Boys' indeed) and Everyday is Like Sunday. Seeing the queuing crowds at the Wolverhampton gig gave a huge stab of nostalgia and made me wonder if I have enough hair to grow back my quiff!!! A must buy for any Smiths/Morrissey fan or anyone who wants a reminding snapshot of what the late 80s looked like

A must have for the fan, a nice start for the beginner,

If you like Moz you would like to have this nice compendium of promotional videoclips embededded in impressions of the crowd gathering around before a concert of the maestro himself. I've owned the VHS edition before and sound/image-quality is way better.
