5.0 out of 5 stars Hulktastic! 7 Jan 2011
By KM HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Bought this for my 12 year old for christmas. He loves it! He likes the Hulk movies and Marvel stuff as do most young lads I think, I did and still do! Hulk v Wolverine is a corker, loads of characters including the annoying Deadpool and Lady Deathstrike. Basically Wolverine is sent to stop The Hulk from wrecking his way through Canada whilst others are after Hulk for his DNA. Cracking fights, pretty bloody in my opinion but absolutely okay for my lad. The animation is spot on as far as I can see but I'm no geek!

Hulk v Thor is also brilliant. Without giving too much away. . . .many dark forces try to break into Asgard at a certain time and always fail due to the ever mighty Thor and his trusty hammer! One baddie decides to try to control The Hulk and use him to destroy Asgard. . . .

Spot on the both of them, we loved them both and will be buying more dvd's like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Battlefests for the Price of One 1 Sep 2009
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Hulk Vs is Two short Movies on one DVD. Released sometime after the Incredible Hulk movie which starred Edward "Fight Club" Norton it stars everyones favourite Not so Jolly Green Giant taking on two of Marvel's best known characters, Thor and Wolverine. I'l lstart by giving a breif look at the seperate stories to these then give my review.

HULK VS THOR: Loki the God of Mischief once again desires to defeat his half brother Thor and take over Asgard during OdinSleep where Odin the King of the Gods rests and his enemies come in thei numbers to take over Asgard only to be defeated by Thor and the other Gods. Loki captures Bruce Banner and seperates him from the Hulk before taking control of it. Loki then unleashes the Hulk upon Asgard where it makes short work of some of its warriors and soldiers. Loki however loses control during a battle with Thor so now the Hulk goes on a rampage since its no longer got Banner within it. Thor realises that the only way to stop the Hulk is with Bruce Banner. However Loki has killed Banner so now Thor must save Banner's soul. If not Hulk will destroy all Asgard and Odin.

HULK VS WOLVERINE: When the Hulk is reported to have gone a rampage through Canada a lone operative is dropped in after it. The lone operative is the best at what he does, its Wolverine. The two clash in the Canadian forests only for both to be captured by ghosts from Wolverine's past in the form of Weapon X. Whilst both seem to be at their mercy Wolverine is refusing to be used as a tool again and manages to be set free upon the base by the other four members of his former team (consisting of Sabretooth, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike and Deadpool, whilst mostly its Deathstrike's fault). Letting Bruce Banner free too Wolverine battles the Team X members who had gone after the Hulk as well leading to a slash, kick, punch and shoot fest as the base begins to be torn apart by six super powered beings, one being stronger then any of them.

Hulk vs caught me surprise when I bought it. I got it because I had watched the trailers and saw it as enjoyable. It was also because Deadpool starred in Hulk vs Wolverine and makes him one of the DVDs highlights. Both go for different animation styles, Hulk vs Thor has a slightly more arty style since its set with mythology including, the fight scenes are good but its kinda one sided since Hulk pretty much just takes out all in his path. Its like in the Dragonball Z series of films with the likes of Broly or Bojack who just take out everyone until some miracle comes alone. However I always had a interest in mythology so this was good, plus i didn;t know that much about Thor since I was always mostly a Spiderman or X-Men fan growing up so this was a rare treat to see the God of Thunder in Action. Its also a bit more dramatic such a sin one scene Bruce Banner is in a fantasy world where he is free from the Hulk and happily married to Betty Ross and has a son. However he's plcuked away from this paradise to try and be joined back with Hulk. You feel sorry for Bruce since he finds the life he wants but has to give it up.

Hulk vs WOlverine is a bit more gritty and action filled. The animation has a slight anime feel to it at times and whilst shorter then Hulk vs Thor packs more of a punch for me. Wolverine is a perfect opponent for Hulk, at one point he takes about 5 punches to the face from Hulk and still gets up and sticks his claws into the Gamma powered Titan. The pair are sort of evenly matched so a fight could go either way. The sotry also shows another version of Wolverine's origin story, in the movies starring Hugh Jackman he volenteered whilst in this he is forced into it by a mad scientist. The rest of Team X consist of characters who were part of Weapon X or just added in. I know Sabretooth and Deadpool were part of the programme but not sure bout Deathstrike and Omega Red.

This movie is a bit more adult since theres quite bit of violence and some mild swearing in the film. We actually get to see claws stab through bodies and some of the conversations aren;t for children, especially Deadpool joking Babies freak him out and then jokes even more stating he'd shoot them. Also for those who were disappointed with the Deadpool in the Wolverine Live Action Film this movie will help you since he wears the original costume and acts much like the Merc with the Mouth we know and love.

In conclusion Hulk vs is one for all Marvel fans, even if your just a Hulk fan you'll enjoy this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and Not As Good 27 Aug 2011
Format:DVD
I'll briefly don my comic-book-nerd hat for this one - but, to be fair, I don't think these movies are intended for anyboby else.

There are two films in this package; the only connection between which is the big green guy - Hulk vs Wolverine and Hulk vs Thor. Both episodes are well animated and visually true to the comic book characters they portray. Hulk vs Wolverine is entertaining with much snappy dialogue and credible action scenes. Hulk vs Thor, however, is far less so and gets the relative "power" of the two protagonists badly wrong - Hulk simply cannot be stopped whereas Thor is uncharcteristically limp wristed and vulnerable leading to an annoyingly one sided conflict which will make most Thor fans cringe and more honest Hulk fans cringe also. Still, both are worth a look, particularly if you're wearing a hat like mine.
