Ang Lee ('Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon') directs this special-effects (CGI), blockbuster adaptation of the Marvel comic character. Dr. Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) is working in the research department of the University of California when he is accidentally hit by one of his experimental rays. This turns him into a very large, green monster which then goes on the rampage; destroying the lab and anything else that gets in its way. It transpires that Banner turns into this green hulk when he becomes angry. So when his despotic father (Nick Nolte) begins to use the rays to his own means, Banner's alter-ego has to go to the rescue of a fellow lab-mate, Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly). However, Banner is kidnapped by Glenn Talbot (Joshua Lucas), a wheeler-dealer who recognises a money-making scheme and manages to push Banner too far. The green monster once again rears its ugly head (!), going on another rampage through the streets of San Francisco. Is there anyone who can tame this beast?

OK so this has it's good moments such as a decent cast,a good director but the problem it takes a while to get going-a long while.it's an interesting sci-fi film but it lacks everything that a good marvel comics film has such as action and thrills this is mainly about his life and how he became the Hulk and it has too much talk sci-fi wise and when the action finally get's off the ground you had enough and don't care the long-awaited action scenes are predictable and you might as well stop watching this had so much potential some of the cast members deliver great performances and the special effects are brilliant but this film is let down by a truly awful script and story that fails to add up I recommend the rebooted film after this not this one
it has more action, more excitement and more importantly makes sense ,this is not a classic marvel movie.
if you like action-less sci-fi this is for you otherwise go for The Incredible Hulk [DVD]

This is a well presented steelbook. Green dominates both front and back covers and the artwork captures the real spirit of the movie. The surface is attractively smooth and glossy.

I really like this version of the 'Hulk' and Eric Bana really nails the role as a man in conflict with his inner good and bad. This blu ray version is very good with both picture quality and sound. As a movie it's entertaining and a good reminder of the universal human struggle in life. I also like that the movie is action packed.

This film gets dumped on far to much. It manages to do what all the other iterations of Hulk couldn't, which is taking a giant green monster, and humanize him, make us really care for him, and create a truly tragic story revolving around him. In all other iterations, he is simply something that blows stuff up for the sake of action, and while this technically works, as many people love the Hulk that came after this, they are pointless. We have more than enough action going on in cinema. This movie did amazing things, and I love it for that.

In terms of the steel book itself, it looks great, feels great, and the blu ray has all the special features you would expect. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Not the best Marvel film. The 60s style frame montage can be irritating at times. As for the film itself, the origin story is tedious. The cliché end battle is an anti climax. What would have been better, is if the Hulk had a better opponent as in The Avengers or even the 2008 reboot.

I think this film was released to high expectations and it did not fill those expectations. Ang Lee went overboard with the new editing style that he created,
